Church Lane (C82) Oxted
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 3 January 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles, equestrians and cyclists from entering or proceeding in that length of Church Lane (C82) Oxted which extends from its junction with A25 West Hill/Godstone Road to its southernmost junction with Langley House.
This Order is required to enable Safe Dig Utilities to facilitate ducting works, which is anticipated to be completed within 3 days, between 8am and 4pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 9 January 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, emergency service vehicles, equestrians and cyclists will be maintained via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises, including emergency service vehicle access, within the length of road above or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising. Alternative Route – Church Lane, East Hill Road, West Hill and Church Lane.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 3 January 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice. (N.B. the road closures will not be in force at the same time).
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate installation of speed limit signs, which is anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 8 January 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Access to premises within the affected length of roads, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route.
Schedule
1. D2530 Dorking Road, Bookham and D2530 Chapel Lane, Bookham/Westhumble – that length which extends from a point 260m south of junction with D2620 Howard Road to a point 100m west of junction with D2800 Adlers Lane.
Alternative Route – D2530 Dorking Road, D2511 Leatherhead Road, A246 Leatherhead Road, A246 Young Street, A24 Dorking Road and D2530 Westhumble Street; 2. D269 Hogden Lane, Ranmore Common – its entire length.
Alternative Route – D268 High Barn Road and C44 Ranmore Common Road; 3. D271 Ranmore Common Road, Westhumble/Ranmore Common – its entire length.
Alternative Route – D2530 Chapel Lane, D2530 Dorking Road, D2511 Leatherhead Road, A246 Leatherhead Road,A246 Guildford Road, C43 Beech Avenue, C43 Critten Lane and C44 Ranmore Common Road; 4. C43 White Down Lane, Abinger and C43 Critten Lane, Effingham – that length which extends from the junction with C44 Crocknorth Road to the junction with A25 Guildford Road.
Alternative Route – A25 Guildford Road, A25 Coast Hill, A25 Guildford Road, A25 Westcott Road, A25 West Street, A2003 Station Road, A2003 Chalk Pit Lane, C44 Ashcombe Road, C44 Ranmore Road and C44 Ranmore Common Road.
Walters Mead (D2613) Ashtead
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 3 January 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Walters Mead (D2613) Ashtead which extends from its junction with Woodfield Lane (D2613) to the northeastern property boundary line of “4 Walters Mead”. Alternative Route – No diversion route available.
The Order is required to allow Clancy Docwra to carry out water works which is anticipated to be completed within 5 days, between 8:30am and 4:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 29 January 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Road plate to be used out of working hours.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency vehicles and residents will be maintained within the closure.
Masons Bridge Road (D355) Redhill and Honeycrock Lane (C65) Salfords
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 3 January 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Masons Bridge Road (D355) Redhill and Honeycrock Lane (C65) Salfords which extends from its junction with a: Axes Lane (C65) to its junction with Kings Mill Lane (D355) b: Masons Bridge Road (D355) to its junction with Dunraven Avenue (X67881).
Alternative Route – Diversion for Mason’s Bridge Road: Axes Lane (C65), Green Lane (C65), Prince of Wales Road (C67), Moats Lane (D381), Crab Hill Lane (D381), Kings Cross Lane (D381) and Kings Mill Lane (D355) or the same route in reverse.
Diversion for Honeycrock Lane: Brighton Road (A23), Horley Road (A23), Three Arch Road (D355) and Masons Bridge Road (D355) or the same route in reverse.
The Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 26 January 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency vehicles and residents will be maintained within the closure.
Coldharbour Lane (D289) Dorking
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Coldharbour Lane (D289) Dorking as extends from a point approximately 50 metres north east of its junction with the access to the properties known as “Chadhurst Lodge”, “Brookmead Cottage” and “Chadhurst Farm” south-westwards for a distance of approximately 250 metres.
Alternative Routes –
(1) Coldharbour Lane; Falkland Road; Vincent Lane; Westcott Road; Guildford Road; Coast Hill; Guildford Road; Hollow Lane; Abinger Lane; Leith Hill Road; Abinger Road; and Coldharbour Lane; and (2) Coldharbour Lane; Abinger Road; Leith Hill Road; Abinger Lane; Hollow Lane; Guildford Road; Coast Hill; Guildford Road; Wetcott Road; West Street; South Street; Falkland Road; and Coldharbour Lane. The Order is required to allow overhead cabling works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of BT Openreach within the length of road described in this notice.
These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm within the 12-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 22 January 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, the emergency services, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times via operatives on site.
Red Lane (C85) Limpsfield
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Red Lane (C85) Limpsfield is crossed by the rail over road bridge numbered “SCU1 526” also known as the “Red Lane Railway Bridge” and for a distance of 20 metres to each side.
Alternative Route – Red Lane; Pollards Wood Road; Pollards Oak Road; Hurstlands; Greenhurst Lane; Hurst Green Road; Holland Road; Merle Common Road; and Red Lane.
The Order is required to allow telecoms installation works and/or bridge inspection works and/or bridge maintenance works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Network Rail within the length of road described in this notice.
These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 1 Night between the hours of 10pm and 6am within the 18-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 23 January 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for the emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times via operatives on site, all other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected.
Tanhouse Road (D423 Oxted
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Tanhouse Road (D423 Oxted.
Alternative Route – Hall Hill; Beadles Lane; High Street; A25 Godstone Road/West Hill/East Hill; and Woodhurst Lane.
The Order is required to allow telecoms utility repair and/or maintenance works to be carried out by, or on behalf of BT Openreach within the length of road described in this notice.
These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm within the 12-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 24 January 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, the emergency services, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times via operatives on site.
Tandridge Hill Lane (C73) Godstone and The Platt (D415) Dormansland
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the that length of (a) Tandridge Hill Lane (C73) Godstone as it extends from its junction with (A25) Oxted Road Northwards for a distance of 600 metres.
Alternative Route – A25 Oxted Road; Flower Lane; Gangers Hill; and Tandridge Hill Lane; and (b) The Platt (D415) Dormansland as extends from its junction with (T10060) The Platt, also known as Public Footpath 393b Dormansland to a point in line with the common boundary between No.15 and No.16 View Terrace, The Platt.
Alternative Route – via the eastern and southern arms of The Platt.
This Order, which will commence on 24 January 2024 for a period of 12 months is required because works are being, or are proposed to be, executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of BT Openreach, including but not limited to: overhead fibre cabling and/or overhead utility cabling underground cabling and/or telecoms utility repair and/or maintenance works.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. For part (a) works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm commencing 24 January 2024. For part (b) works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm commencing 031 January 2024. Access for residents, the emergency services, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Rusper Road (C59) Newdigate
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to:-
(a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Rusper Road (C59) Newdigate which extends from its junction with Dukes Drive, southwards for a distance of 400m; and (b) suspend “The Surrey County Council Various Roads in the District of Mole Valley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2022” insofar as it relates to Rusper Road only.
This Order is required to enable BT to facilitate pole replacement works which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 22 January 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure and suspension of the Order will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. Alternative Route – Rusper Road, Village Street, Parkgate Road and Partridge Lane or vice versa.
Godstone Road (A22) Whyteleafe
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to:- (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Godstone Road (A22) Whyteleafe which extends from its junction with B270 Hillbury Road, to the boundary of Surrey County Council with the London Borough of Croydon; and (b) revoke “Various Roads in the District of Tandridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.3) 2022” insofar as it relates to the length of Godstone Road as specified in sub-paragraph (a) above only.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate surface dressing and pre-patching works, which is anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 19 January 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
