What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(A1079 BEVERLEY BYPASS (PART)) (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2024

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed at a speed exceeding 30 mph along the following roads:
A1079 Eastbound – 1400 metres both sides of Jocks Lodge junction including clovers (2800 metres in total)
A1079 Westbound – 1400 metres both sides of Jocks Lodge junction including clovers (2800 metres in total).
These restrictions will also have buffer zone speed restricted areas leading into the 30 mph limited as follows – A 40 mph buffer zone of 600 metres.
The reason for the speed restriction is to enable the proposed Jocks Lodge scheme works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed by 8 July 2025.
The Order will commence 8 January 2024 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
