What is happening?
EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U7521 Stonepark Drive, Forest Row)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex
County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of
this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will
temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Stonepark Drive – for its entire length.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 22 January 2024 and lasts for a period of
18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between
22 and 30 January 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2026 Edenbridge Road, Hartfield)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council
intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to
make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily
close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Edenbridge Road – from the junction with A264 Colestock Road
to the junction with B2110 Castlefields.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular
access for residents and to properties maintained whenever
possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A264
Colestock Road – East Grinstead Road – Watch Oak Hill – Ashurst
Road(Kent) – B2110 Groombridge Hill(Kent) – Withyham Road
and vice versa.
The Order commences 25 January 2024 and lasts for a period of
18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 25 January
2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C82 Newbury Lane, Wadhurst)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County
Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will
temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Newbury Lane – from the junction with U7887 Newbury Lane to
the junction with B2100 Cousley Wood Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular
access for residents and to properties maintained whenever
possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2100
Cousley Wood Road – C537 Monks Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 9 January 2024 and lasts for a period of
18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between
9 and 11 January 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2188 Hendal Hill/Cherry Gardens Hill,
Groombridge) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2024
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County
Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will
temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Hendal Hill/Cherry Gardens Hill – from the junction with C251
Ladies Mile to the junction with B2110 Withyham Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular
access for residents and to properties maintained whenever
possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2188
Plumyfeather Lane, Lye Green Road, Church Hill, Black Hill –
B2026 High Road, Chuck Hatch Road, Cotchford Hill, Jib Jacks
Hill – B2110 High Street, Castlefields, Withyham Road and
vice versa.
The Order commences 9 January 2024 and lasts for a period of
18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 9 and
10 January 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

which will temporarily close the following length of road;

High Street – from the junction with U7842 Church Street to the
junction with B2026 Edenbridge Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular
access for residents and to properties maintained whenever
possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2026
Jib Jacks Hill, Chuck Hatch Road, High Road – B2188 Black Hill,
Church Hill, Lye Green Road, Plumyfeather Lane, Cherry Gardens
Hill, Hendal Hill – B2110 Withyham Road, Castlefields and
vice versa.
The Order commences 8 January 2024 and lasts for a period of
18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from
20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 8 and 10 January 2024 depending
upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County
Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will
temporarily close the following lengths of road;
Temporary Road Closures
Monks Lane – from the junction with C82 Newbury Lane to the
junction with B2100 Cousley Wood Road.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 1 and 15 March
2024.
Diversion via B2100 Cousley Wood Road – C82 Newbury Lane
and vice versa.
Newbury Lane – from the junction with C537 Monks Lane to the
junction with B2100 Cousley Wood Road.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 15 March and
9 April 2024.
Diversion via C537 Monks Lane – B2100 Cousley Wood Road
and vice versa.
Three Oaks Lane – from the junction with B2099 Station Hill to
the junction with C539 Turners Green.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 6 June and
3 July 2024.
Diversion via C539 Turners Green – C272 South View Road –
B2100 Sparrows Green Road – B2099 Durgates, Station Road,
Station Hill and vice versa.
Old Station Road – from the junction with C539 Three Oaks Lane
to the junction with U7524 Jonas Lane.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 6 June and
3 July 2024.
Diversion via U7524 Jonas Lane – B2099 Station Road, Station
Hill – C539 Three Oaks Lane and vice versa.
Lake Street – from the junction with A267 Mayfield Road to the
junction with C14 Tidebrook Road.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 17 February and
1 March 2024.
Diversion via A267 Mayfield Road – B2100 Wadhurst Road, Best
Beech Hill – C14 Tidebrook Road.
Sheriffs Lane – from the junction with C407 Yew Tree Lane to the
junction with B2101 High Cross.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 8 January and
16 February 2024.
Diversion via B2101 High Cross, Mayfield Road – B2100 Station
Road, Catts Hill – C407 Yew Tree Lane and vice versa.
Mayfield Lane – from the junction with B2099 Station Road to
the junction with C14 Tidebrook Road.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 8 and 31 January
2024.
Diversion via B2100 Best Beech Hill, Wadhurst Road – A267
Tunbridge Wells Road, Mayfield Road – B2099 Wadhurst Road,
Riverhall Hill, Frant Road, Station Hill, Station Road and vice versa.
Wadhurst Road/Best Beech Hill – from the junction with A267
Tunbridge Wells Road to the junction with C14 Tidebrook Road.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 1 February and
6 June 2024.
Diversion via A267 Tunbridge Wells Road, Mayfield Road – B2099
Wadhurst Road, Riverhall Hill, Frant Road, Station Hill, Station
Road – B2100 Mayfield Lane and vice versa.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 8 January 2024 and lasts for a period of
18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed
above depending upon the weather conditions.
