Notice of Making
NOTICE is hereby given that on 3rd January 2024 The Brentwood Borough Council (“the Council) in accordance with section 32, 33, 34, 35, 39 and 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the 1984 Act”) and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act HEREBY make the following Order:
The Borough of Brentwood (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2023
The effect of this Order will be to remake the provisions of the existing Off-Street Parking Places Orders into a single Order and to:
1. Introduce provisions for use of Electric Vehicle Charging Parking Places.
2. The Town Hall Car Park North Area, Ingrave Road, Brentwood, Essex, CM15 8AY shall become Brentwood Borough Council Staff Permit Holders Parking Only Monday to Friday.
Public use of the Car Park will be restricted to Saturday and Sunday only and the charging on these days will remain the same. The Visitor Area shall remain Payment Parking.
3. Introduce Electric charging bays in Chatham way car park, King Georges playing field car park.
4. The following Car Parks shall be revoked:
a. Courage Court;
b. Rayleigh Road;
The areas designated for Off-Street Parking are listed in Schedule 1 and identified in plans attached at Schedule 4 of the Order.
A copy of the sealed Order and the associated plans are available for inspection at the Council Offices at Town Hall, Ingrave Road, Brentwood, CM15 8AY between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
The Order comes into force on 3rd January 2024, but if any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that a requirement of the Act, or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date in which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
