THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991
THE LEICESTER (ORCHARD STREET) (TEMPORARY) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicester City Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be, for the following anticipated period of time to:
Prohibit the movement of all vehicles and prohibit waiting and loading at any time on Orchard Street between its junction with Belgrave Gate and a point 30 metres west thereof from 6.00am on Monday 8th January 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 21st January 2024.
Diversion route: Belgrave Gate, Burleys Way.
Suspend existing one-way restriction on Orchard Street in its entirety from 6.00am on Monday 8th January 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 21st January 2024.
Prohibit waiting and loading at any time on Orchard Street between its junctions with Burleys Way and with Royal East Street from 6.00am on Monday 8th January 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 21st January 2024.
The Order will come into effect on the 8th January 2024 and will continue in force for up to 18 months, or until the order is no longer deemed necessary, whichever is the earlier.
This order is made to facilitate junction alteration works taking place and to prevent the likeliness of danger to the public.
Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
