What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
DRIVING) ORDER 2024 (M24-002)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire
County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in
respect of roads at Mansfield Town in the Mansfield.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the
following length of road:
a. Maltby Road - from a point 200 metres in a north
easterly direction from its junction with A6191 Southwell
Road West in north easterly direction for a distance of 40
metres.
b. Bedford Avenue - from its junction with Normanton
Drive to its junction with B6030 Little Carter Lane.
c. Blake Crescent - from its junction with Alcock Avenue
in an easterly direction for a distance of 115 metres.
d. Longshaw Road - from its junction with A6117 Oak
Tree Lane to its junction with Mappleton Drive.
e. B6033 Ravensdale Road - from its junction with Blake
Crescent in a westerly direction for a distance of 50 metres.
f. Dorothy Drive - from its junction with A6117 Old Mill
Lane in a north easterly direction for a distance of 75
metres.
g. Reindeer Street - from its junction with Argyle Street to
its junction with Gordon Avenue.
h. Ellesmere Road - from its junction with Woodland
Road to its junction with A6117 Old Mill Lane.
i. Hall Street - from its junction with Eakring Road to its
junction with Newmarket Street.
j. Warwick Drive - from its junction with B6030 Sherwood
Hall Road to its junction with Abbey Road.
k. Gordon Avenue - from its junction with Hall Street in a
north westerly direction for a distance of 90 metres.
2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily
suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect
when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above
road or roads will apply as follows:
From 07:30 hours on Tuesday 2nd January 2024
Until 17:30 hours on Friday 26th April 2024
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during
the period of restriction the alternative route available will
be:
Maltby Road - A6191 Southwell Road West - B6030 Carter
Lane - Eakring Road (also known as Skerry Hill) - Epsom
Street and vice versa.
Normanton Drive - Warwick Drive - B6030 Little Carter
Lane and vice versa.
Blake Crescent - B6033 Ravensdale Road - Hibbert Road
and vice versa.
Longshaw Road - Mappleton Drive - Jubilee Way South -
A6117 Oak Tree Lane and vice versa.
Dorothy Drive - Victory Drive - Laurel Avenue - George
Street - B6030 Clipstone Road West - A6117 Old Mill Lane
and vice versa.
Reindeer Street - Gordon Avenue - B6030 Carter Lane -
Argyle Street and vice versa.
Ellesmere Road - A6117 Old Mill Lane - B6030 Clipstone
Road West and vice versa.
Hall Street - Newmarket Street - Smith Street - Eakring
Road and vice versa.
Warwick Drive - Normanton Drive - Bedford Avenue -
B6030 Little Carter Lane and vice versa.
Gordon Avenue - Hall Street - Argyle Street - Reindeer
Street and vice versa.
The Order will come into force on Tuesday 2nd January
2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and
any subsequent day when necessary to enable works
to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until
the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18
months).
The prohibition is required to enable Severn Trent Water to
carry out Green Recovery Scheme works;
