Gaywood Road, Temporary Restrictions Due To Works

What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF WALTHAM FOREST

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

THE WALTHAM FOREST (CONSTRUCTION VEHICLE ACCESS) (GAYWOOD ROAD E17) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) (NO.1) ORDER 2024 (TT65(23))

1. The Council of the London Borough of Waltham Forest HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it intends on making an Order to allow safe access, egress and loading provision for construction vehicles in association with a development site at No. 458 Forest Road E17.

2. The general effect of the Order would be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed or, where applicable, covered, to –

(a) prohibit vehicles (except work vehicles) from entering, proceeding, waiting or loading, for any purpose, "at any time' in Gaywood Road E17 - between its junction with Forest Road and the common boundary of Nos. 47/49;

(b) suspend 5 metres of Zone 'HS' Permit Holders parking space on both sides outside No. 47 Gaywood Road E17 and restrict vehicles from waiting or loading, for any purpose, "at any time";

(c) suspend the prohibited access area to vehicular traffic outside No. 1 Gaywood Road E17;

3. Whilst the prohibitions referred to in item 2 above remain in force, advance warning signage and alternative routes for traffic shall be in place.

4. Vehicles waiting, loading, stopping or parking in disregard of this Order would be removed.

5. The prohibitions mentioned above would not apply in relation to any vehicle being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes (if the works allow).

6. The Order would come into operation on 15th January 2024 for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.

NOTE: The works are expected to be completed within 15 days, however, the Order has been extended to allow for any bad weather or other unforeseen constraints that may abort works
