What is happening?
LEEDS CITY COUNCIL
(Speed Limit) (No.41) Order 2023
Leeds City Council proposes to make the above Order under its powers contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to introduce:
1. 20 MPH Speed Limit on the entire length of Gawthorpe Avenue.
Full details of the proposals together with plans showing the affected lengths of highway and statement of reasons for making the Order are available on request by e-mailing the address below. If you wish to object to, or make any representations concerning the proposed Order, you should write to Traffic Engineering, City Development, Civic Hall, Leeds LS1 1UR or e-mail troteam@leeds.gov.uk specifying the grounds on which your objection or representation is made, by no later than 18th January 2024.
(Speed Limit) (No.14) Order 2023
Leeds City Council has now made the above Order under its powers contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Orders which came into force on 22nd December 2023 is to introduce:
1. 40 MPH Speed Limit on: Newsam Green Road, the entire length; Pontefract Lane, from a point 161 metres north east of its junction with Lakeside Way in a easterly direction to its merger with Newsam Green Road.
A copy of the Order together with plans showing the affected sections of highway may be obtained by e-mailing legal.development@leeds.gov.uk. if you wish to object to question the validity of an Order or any provision contained within it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirements of the Act or any instrument made under the Act has not be complied with in relation to the Order, you may within 6 weeks from the date upon which the Order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
