What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
(WHINNEY LANE, STREETHOUSE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 1) 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to allow for annual level crossing test to be carried out as follows:ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Whinney Lane, Streethouse at the level crossing. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Whinney Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Mill Lane, New Road, B6133 Whinney Lane and vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 22.00 hours on 2nd January 2024 until 05.00 hours on 3rd January 2024, or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest. Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(ROWAN CLOSE FOOTPATH, KNOTTINGLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER (NO 2) 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for the upgrade of the underground gas network to be carried out on or near Rowan Close Footpath, Knottingley, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, has made an Order the effect of which is that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpath.
Alternative route for pedestrians: Access to properties will be maintained via the fronts of the houses.
Pedestrian Diversion: Cedar Walk, Sycamore Close, Sycamore Avenue & vice versa.
The order comes into operation on 3rd January 2024 until 16th January 2024.
(YEW TREE WALK FOOTPATH, KNOTTINGLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER (NO 3) 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for the upgrade of the underground gas network to be carried out on or near Yew Tree Walk Footpath, Knottingley, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, has made an Order the effect of which is that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpath.
Alternative route for pedestrians: Access to properties will be maintained via the fronts of the houses.
Pedestrian Diversion: Lilac Avenue, Hazel Road, Sycamore Avenue, Sycamore Close, Cedar Walk, & vice versa.
The order comes into operation on 3rd January 2024 until 6th February 2024.
(PONTEFRACT ROAD, KNOTTINGLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 14) 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to carry out major repairs and strengthening works to the railway bridge be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Pontefract Road, Knottingley at the junction of Warren Avenue. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Pontefract Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Pontefract Road, Ferrybridge Road, Fishergate, Argyle Road, Doncaster Road, Great North Road, A645, Pontefract Road.
Reverse Route – Pontefract Road, slip road to A162 Knottingley, Great North Road, Old Great North Road, The Square, Fishergate, Ferrybridge Road, Pontefract Road.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 13th January 24 to 19th November 24, every Saturday night only between 22.00 hours and 06.00 hours, or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(WARREN AVENUE, KNOTTINGLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 15) 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to carry out major repairs and strengthening works to the railway bridge be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Warren Avenue, Knottingley between Pontefract Road and Hammond Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Warren Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Via Warren Avenue, Simpsons Lane,Headlands Lane, Pontefract Road & vice versa
Saturday nights only – Warren Avenue, Simpsons Lane, Headlands Lane, Ferrybridge Road, Fishergate, Argyle Road, Doncaster Road, Great North Road, A645, Pontefract Road.
Reverse Route – Pontefract Road, slip road to A162 Knottingley, Great North Road, Old Great North Road, The Square, Fishergate, Ferrybridge Road, Headlands Lane, Simpsons Lane and Warren Avenue.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 13th January 24 to 19th November 24, or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(A655 HIGH STREET, CASTLEFORD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 18) 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to carry out rerailing works to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: A655 High Street, Castleford at the level crossing. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of A655 High Street.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Lumley Street, A639, A6082, Methley Road, Wood Street, Albion Street and vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 13th January 2024 to 14th January 2024, overnight between 23.30 hours to 08.30 hours, or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(LOWER OXFORD STREET, CASTLEFORD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 19) 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for lead renewal to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Lower Oxford Street, Castleford for approximately 30 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Lower Oxford Street.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Pretoria Street, Lower Oxford Street, Vickers Street and vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 18th January 2024 at 08.00 hours to 22nd January 2024 at 18.00 hours, or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest. Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
