What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
B1340 DENWICK LANE TO DENWICK VILLAGE ALNWICK and
B1340 DENWICK LANE ALNWICK
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends
to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on the following
sections of highway in Alnwick in the County of Northumberland:
● B1340 Denwick Lane from its junction with Allerburn Lea Alnwick
heading in a northerly direction for a length of 65 metres
● B1340 Denwick Lane to Denwick Village from its point with Denwick
Lane Alnwick continuing on for a further 700 metres
The Order is to be effective from the 15th January 2024 until the 15th
February 2024.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 15th January 2024
until the 20th January 2024 between the hours of 08:00 until 16:00 during
this period; however, the order will remain in place until 15th February
2024.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the B1340, U3007,
B6341, C423, C422, B6346 and vice-versa.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council road
closure to carry out resurfacing works.
In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be
undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
