What is happening?
M2 MOTORWAY – JUNCTIONS 4 TO 7
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has varied The M2 Motorway (Junctions 4 to 7) (Temporary Restriction and Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023(a), originally made on 24th August 2023.
The effect of the variation is to: -
1. impose a 24-hour width restriction of 2.0 metres in the outside lane of –
(a) the coastbound carriageway of the M2 between junction 5 (A249) and Junction 6 (A251); and
(b) the London-bound carriageway of the M2 between Junction 7 (A2/A299) and Junction 5 (A249).
2. authorise the 24-hour closure of the lay-by adjacent to the London-bound carriageway of the A2 between points 723 and 1020 metres north of the tip of the nosing of the entry slip road at Harbledown Interchange (A2050) for the purposes of vehicle recovery.
The variation will come into force on 5th January 2024.
