Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice 2024

Notice Is Hereby Given That Monmouthshire County Council of County Hall, The Rhadyr, Usk, NP15 1GA (“the Council”) Has made an order pursuant to the powers conferred by Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

The Order came into operation on the 8th January 2024 and will continue to be in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will be completed between 8th January 2024 and 19th January 2024.

The order was necessary for MJ Quinn works to take place in a safe manner at the location. Reasonable access will be maintained for properties fronting the affected lengths of road during the period of the closure.

The effect of the order was to temporarily close a section of Dewstow Road, Caerwent, Monmouthshire, from its junction with R136 (Caerwent Road to the M48) for ~420m.

A signed diversionary route was in place as follows:- R136 (Caerwent Road to the M48), R136 (The M48 to Church Road), Church Road, Chepstow Road, Woodstock Way, B4245 (Newport Road) and vice versa.

This order may be cited as the Dewstow Road, Caerwent, Monmouthshire Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2024

By virtue of Section 16(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 a person who contravenes a restriction or prohibition imposed under Section 14 of the Act shall be guilty of an offence.
