THE LEICESTER (BURTON STREET) (TEMPORARY)
TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicester City Council intends, not
less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order
under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the
effect of which will be, for the following anticipated period of time to:
Prohibit the movement of all vehicles and prohibit waiting and
loading at any time on Burton Street between its junctions
with Morledge Street and with Ann Street from 8.00am on
Monday 8th January 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 7th July 2024.
Prohibit access to pedestrians on Burton Street between its
junctions with Morledge Street and with Ann Street from 8.00am on
Monday 8th January 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 7th July 2024.
Prohibit the movement of all vehicles in a westbound direction and
prohibit waiting and loading at any time on Burton Street between
its junction with Ann Street and a point 35 metres east thereof
from 8.00am on Monday 8th January 2024 until 11.59pm on
Sunday 7th July 2024.
Diversion route: St Georges Way, Humberstone Road.
Suspend existing one-way restriction on Ann Street between its
junction with Humberstone Road and a point 70 metres south
thereof from 8.00am on Monday 8th January 2024 until 11.59pm
on Sunday 7th July 2024.
Prohibit parking, waiting and loading at any time on Midland Street
(north side) between its junction with Morledge Street and a point
20 metres west of its junction with Nichols Street from 8.00am on
Monday 8th January 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 7th July 2024.
Prohibit parking, waiting and loading at any time except blue badge
holders on Midland Street (north side) between its junction with
Nichols Street and a point 20 metres west thereof from 8.00am on
Monday 8th January 2024 until 11.59pm on Sunday 7th July 2024.
The Order will come into effect on the 8th January 2024 and will
continue in force for up to 18 months, or until the order is no longer
deemed necessary, whichever is the earlier.
This order is made to facilitate recladding works taking place and
to prevent the likeliness of danger to the public. Emergency access
will be maintained at all times.
