What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(C107 ASMALL LANE, ORMSKIRK, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have
made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to
temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length
of C107 Asmall Lane, Ormskirk from the property named White Rails Farm to the property named Fir Tree House.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying
out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Tuesday 9th
January 2024 until 1700 hours on Thursday 11th January 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
C107 Asmall Lane, Ormskirk – C107 Cottage Lane, Ormskirk – A59
County Road, Ormskirk – A570 Southport Road, Ormskirk – A570
Southport Road, Scarisbrick – A5147 Gorsuch Lane, Scarisbrick –
A5147 Halsall Road, Halsall – C107 North Moor Lane, Halsall – C107
Asmall Lane, Halsall – C107 Asmall Lane, Scarisbrick and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow new water connection
works to be carried out by Network Plus on behalf of United Utilities.
