The East Cambridgeshire District Council (Public Footpath Nos.2, 3 and 5, Ely (part))
Public Path Diversion Order 2023
The above Order was made on 6th December 2023. The effect of the Order will be to divert part of Public Footpath Nos. 2, 3 and 5, Ely as described below and shown on the order map: Part of Public Footpath No. 2, Ely commencing on a track at OSGR TL 5390 7974 generally southwest for approx. 7 m to a junction with Public Footpath No. 3, Ely at OSGR TL 5389 7973. The footpath continues generally southwest across a field for approx. 165 m to a junction with Public Footpath No. 5, Ely at OSGR TL 5378 7961. The footpath then continues generally southwest for approx. 33 m to OSGR TL 5377 7959.
To a new line commencing on a track at OSGR TL 5390 7974 generally east-south-east for approx. 38 m to a point located to the south of a line of trees at OSGR TL 5393 7972. Then continuing around a corner in a generally southeast to southwest direction for approx. 37 m to a point located 3 m to the north of a drain at OSGR TL 5393 7969. Then continuing generally along a southwest alignment, 3 m to the north of a drain, for approx. 182 m to OSGR TL 5380 7957. Then continuing around a corner in a generally southwest to northwest direction for approx. 5 m to a point at OSGR TL 5379 7956. Then continuing generally northwest for approx. 36 m to OSGR TL 5377 7959.
Part of Public Footpath No. 3, Ely commencing at a junction with Public Footpath No. 2, Ely at OSGR TL 5389 7973 generally west-north-west across a sports pitch for approx. 143 m to a junction with Public Footpath No. 5, Ely at an earth bund at OSGR TL 5376 7978. The footpath then continues generally west-north-west for approx. 13 m to a point adjacent to a kissing gate at OSGR TL 5375 7979.
To a new line commencing at a track at OSGR TL 5390 7974 generally west-north-west across the grass verge, for approx. 31 m to a worn track at OSGR TL 5387 7975. Then continuing along the worn track generally west-north-west for approx. 69 m to a gravel path, north of a set of steps, at OSGR TL 5381 7979. Then continuing along the gravel path, generally west-north-west for approx. 31 m to OSGR TL 5378 7980. Then continuing along a worn path, to the north of an earth bund, generally west-south-west for approx. 33 m to a point adjacent to a kissing gate at OSGR TL 5375 7979.
Part of Public Footpath No. 5, Ely commencing at a junction with Public Footpath No. 2, Ely at OSGR TL 5378 7961 generally west-south-west for approx. 35 m to a point to the east of the boundary with the Golf Club at OSGR TL 5375 7960.
To a new line commencing a junction with Public Footpath No. 2, Ely at OSGR TL 5377 7959 generally northwest for approx. 17 m to a point to the east of the boundary with the Golf Club at OSGR TL 5375 7960.
Part of Public Footpath No. 5, Ely commencing at a point to the north of the boundary with the Golf Club at OSGR TL 5376 7978 generally north-north-east for approx. 10 m to a junction with Public Footpath No. 3, Ely at an earth bund at OSGR TL 5376 7978.
To a new line commencing from a point to the north of the boundary with the Golf Club at OSGR TL 5376 7978 generally northwest, adjacent to the boundary with the Golf Club, for approx. 17 m to a point adjacent to a kissing gate at OSGR TL 5375 7979.
A copy of the Order and the Order Map may be seen free of charge at East Cambridgeshire District Council, The Grange, Nutholt Lane, Ely, CB7 4EE and of the undersigned during normal office hours. Copies of the Order and Order Map may be purchased at the latter at the price of £12.60.
Any representation about or objection to the Order may be sent or delivered in writing addressed to the undersigned not later than 21 January 2024. Please state the grounds on which it is made.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the East Cambridgeshire District Council may itself confirm the Order as an unopposed order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
