What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (DUNTON: PART OF FOOTPATH NO A5) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of public Footpath No A5, Dunton which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 2469 4190 for approximately 1149 metres in a generally southerly direction to OS GR TL 2439 4298.
This temporary closure is required to enable repair works to take place to two bridges. The closure is expected to be in place from 29 December 2023 to 28 June 2024.
The alternative route for footpath users while this closure is in operation will be:
From OS GR TL 2439 4298 proceed in a generally easterly direction along Bridleway No 11, Dunton to OS GR TL 2518 4253, then proceed in a generally south easterly direction along Footpath No 12, Dunton to OS GR TL 2546 4218, then generally south to OS GR TL 2537 4178, then continue westerly along Byway Open to All Traffic No 18, Dunton to OS GR TL 2469 4190.

The Order will come into operation on 29 December 2023 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpath have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (NORTHILL: PART OF FOOTPATH NO 17) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of public Footpath No 17, Northill which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1578 4767 for approximately 89 metres to OS GR TL 1584 4762.
This temporary closure is required to safely enable asbestos investigations regarding the adjacent bund to take place. The closure is expected to be in place from 22 December 2023 to 21 June 2024.
The alternative route for footpath users while this closure is in operation will be:
From OS GR TL 1578 4767 proceed in a north westerly direction along public Footpath No 17, Northill to OS GR TL 1576 4773, head east along Byway Open to All Traffic No 24, Northill to OS GR TL 1602 4777, then generally south to OS GR TL 1615 4725, then proceed in a south westerly direction along public Footpath Nos. 15 and 17, Northill to OS GR TL 1585 4715, then continue generally north to OS GR TL 1584 4762.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (BIGGLESWADE: FOOTPATH NOS 15 AND 16 AND BRIDLEWAY NO 14 AND PART OF BRIDLEWAY NO 11) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the following lengths of:
I. Footpath No 16, Biggleswade which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL
1932 4642 to OS GR TL 1915 4640
II. Footpath No 15, Biggleswade which extends from OS GR TL 1905 4610 to OS GR TL 1918 4592 and to prohibit any person proceeding on foot or on horseback or lead a horse or cycle along the lengths of:
III. Bridleway No 11, Biggleswade which extends from OS GR TL 1919 4673 to OS GR TL 1897 4589IV. Bridleway No 14, Biggleswade which extends from OS GR TL 1944 4596 to OS GR TL 1908 4590
These temporary closures are required to provide a safe working area for resurfacing works to take place by the railway track. The closure is expected to be in place from 22 December 2023 to 21 June 2024.
The alternative route for footpath and bridleway users while the closures are in operation will be:
From OS GR TL 1919 4673 proceed in a generally southerly direction along Bridleway No 10, Biggleswade to OS GR TL 1944 4596 and vice versa.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (PRIORY ROAD, CAMPTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Priory Road, Campton in a southerly direction for approximately 50 metres from its junction with Ampthill Road Roundabout.
This temporary lane closure is required to enable defect repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 3 to 5 January 2024. The lane will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Rectory Road, Greenway, Shefford Bypass (A507), Ampthill Road (A507) and vice versa.

(BONDS LANE AND FOUNDRY LANE, BIGGLESWADE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the lengths of Bonds Lane and Foundry Lane, Biggleswade between number 3, Bonds Lane and Biggleswade Post Office, Foundry Lane.
This temporary closure is required to enable footpath, resurfacing, bell-mouth, lighting and drainage works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place on 8 to 12 January and 8 to 9 February 2024. Access will be maintained for Aldi Car Park, Mambo’s Meze Lounge and delivery vehicles.
The alternative route for this closure is via B659, Saffron Road, High Street, Station Road and vice versa.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of Little Barford Road, Tempsford.
This temporary closure is required to safely facilitate A428 dual carriageway works and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the first planned closure for works will take place from 3 to 4 February 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via A1, A428, Little Barford Road and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on 1 January 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. (TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from exceeding a 30mph speed limit along the full length of Little Barford Road, Tempsford.
This temporary speed limit is required to safely facilitate A428 dual carriageway works and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
It is expected that the 30mph speed limit will be in operation from Monday 1 January 2024 until the works are complete. The dates of the proposed works will be advertised on site. The proposed Order will come into operation on 1 January 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed whichever is the earlier. CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE
A DISABLED PARKING BAY ON WINCHESTER ROAD, SANDY
Reason for proposal: The disabled parking spaces would provide dedicated places for blue badge holders to park.
Effect of the Order:
To introduce Parking for Disabled badge holders only on the following lengths of road in Sandy:-
1. Winchester Road, north-east side, from a point 2.5 metres south-east of the shared property boundary between No. 47 and No. 49 Winchester Road and extending in a north-westerly direction at a 90° angle, covering an area approximately 5 metres in length and 3 metres in width. Please see plan for clarification.

LIMIT ON CAMPTON ROAD, CAMPTON
Reason for proposal: To reduce speed which should improve road safety in the village.
Effect of the Order:
To introduce a 30mph Speed Limit on the following length of road in Campton -
1. Campton Road, from a point approximately 20 metres south of the centre of the junction with Gravenhurst Road (in line with the Campton Village sign) and extending in a north-westerly direction initially and then following the curvature of the road south for a distance of approximately 270 metres.
