U6704 ALEXANDRA ROAD ASHINGTON
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on the following sections of highways in Ashington in the County of Northumberland.
U6704 Alexandra Road from its junction with Third Avenue heading north for a distance of 40 metres.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 15th January 2024 until the 24th January 2024 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 22nd June 2024.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the Alexandra Road, Woodhorn Road, Hawthorn Road, Third Avenue and vice versa.
U6704 Alexandra Road from its junction with Alexandra Road to Fairfield Drive heading southwards for a distance of 356 metres.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 21st January 2024 until the 5th February 2024 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 22nd June 2024.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the Alexandra Road to Fairfield Drive, Woodlands Drive, Newbiggin Road, College Road and vice versa.
The Order is to be effective from the 15th January 2024 until the 22nd June 2024.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council to carry out carriageway, footpath construction and resurfacing street lighting works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
