(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on the following sections of highway in Ashington in the County of Northumberland.
U6503 Wellhead Terrace for its entire length of 116 metres.
U6503 Wellhead Terrace Back Lane from its point outside the gable end of house number 34 Wellhead Terrace heading north for a distance of 20 metres.
U6503 Aged Miners Cottages from its point outside the front of house number 34 Wellhead Terrace heading east for a distance of 10 metres.
The Order is to be effective from the 8th January 2024 until the 8th July 2024.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 8th January 2024 until the 22nd January 2024 between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 8th July 2024.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via High Market, Bothal Cottages and vice versa.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council to carryout carriageway, footpath construction and resurfacing works and Northumbrian Water Ltd to repair a manhole. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
