MAE GWEINIDOGION CYMRU wedi gwneud Gorchymyn o dan adran 14 o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio
Traffig Ffyrdd 1984. Mae angen y Gorchymyn er mwyn gwneud gwaith ar gefnffordd yr A465 neu
gerllaw iddi rhwng y Rhigos, Rhondda Cynon Taf a Chyfnewidfa Aberdulais, Castell-nedd Port Talbot.
Effaith y Gorchymyn yw gwahardd dros dro bob cerbyd (ac eithrio’r rhai a ddefnyddir gan y
gwasanaethau brys ac ar gyfer y gwaith), beiciwr a cherddwr rhag mynd ar y darn o’r A465 a
ddisgrifir yn yr Atodlen i’r Hysbysiad hwn. Disgrifir y llwybrau eraill yn yr Atodlen hefyd.
Disgwylir y bydd y gwaharddiadau dros dro, y codir arwyddion priodol yn eu cylch, yn dod i rym ar 1
Ionawr ac yn weithredol yn ysbeidiol dros nos (20:00 o’r gloch – 06:00 o’r gloch) am gyfnod o 18 mis
ar y mwyaf. Pan fo’n ymarferol, bydd hysbysiad ynghylch cau’r ffordd yn cael ei arddangos tuag
wythnos ymlaen llaw.

traffig sy’n teithio tua’r dwyrain.

THE A465 TRUNK ROAD (RHIGOS, RHONDDA CYNON TAFF TO
ABERDULAIS INTERCHANGE, NEATH PORT TALBOT) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES, CYCLISTS & PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2023
THE WELSH MINISTERS have made an Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984, which is necessary to undertake works on or near the A465 trunk road between Rhigos,
Rhondda Cynon Taff and Aberdulais Interchange, Neath Port Talbot.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit all vehicles (other than those being used by the
emergency services and for the works), cyclists and pedestrians from proceeding on the lengths of the
A465 described in the Schedule to this Notice. The alternative routes are also described in the Schedule.
The temporary prohibitions, which will be signed accordingly, are expected to come into force on
1 January 2024 and operate intermittently overnight (20:00 hours – 06:00 hours) for a maximum
duration of 18 months. Where practical, notice of closures will be displayed approximately one week
in advance.

SCHEDULE
Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles, Cyclists & Pedestrians and
Alternative Routes
1. The length of the A465 westbound carriageway that extends from its junction with the western
side of the A465 Tower Colliery Sidings bridge with the identification number ‘370’ located west
of the old Rhigos Roundabout (soon to be the Trewaun Junction) at Rhigos to the nosing of the
westbound entry slip road at Glynneath Interchange.
2. The length of the A465 eastbound carriageway (including the eastbound entry slip road at
Glynneath Interchange) that extends from the nosing of the eastbound exit slip road at Glynneath
Interchange to its junction with the western side of the A465 Tower Colliery Sidings bridge with
the identification number ‘370’ located west of the old Rhigos Roundabout (soon to be the
Trewaun Junction) at Rhigos.
The alternative route for westbound traffic is via the westbound A4061 to Hirwaun Industrial Estate
Roundabout, westbound Rhigos Road, Merthyr Road, Aberdare Road and B4242 High Street and
southbound A4109 to Glynneath Interchange: vice versa for eastbound traffic.
3. The length of the A465 westbound carriageway (including the westbound entry slip road at
Glynneath Interchange) that extends from the nosing of the western exit slip road at Glynneath
Interchange to its junction with the eastern side of Cwmgwrach Roundabout.
4. The length of the A465 eastbound carriageway that extends from its junction with the eastern side of
Cwmgwrach Roundabout to the nosing of the eastbound entry slip road at Glynneath Interchange.
The alternative route for westbound traffic is via the northbound A4109 and westbound B4242 to
Cwmgwrach Roundabout: vice versa for eastbound traffic.
5. The length of the A465 that extends from its junction with the western side of Cwmgwrach
Roundabout to its junction with the eastern side of Resolven Roundabout.
The alternative route for westbound traffic is via the northbound B4242 to Aberpergwm
Junction, westbound B4242 and southbound B4434 to Resolven Roundabout: vice versa for
eastbound traffic.
6. The length of the A465 westbound carriageway that extends from its junction with the western side
of Resolven Roundabout to the nosing of the westbound entry slip road at Aberdulais Interchange.
7. The length of the A465 eastbound carriageway (including the eastbound entry slip road) that
extends from the nosing of the northbound exit slip road at Aberdulais Interchange to its junction
with the western side of Resolven Roundabout.
The alternative route for westbound traffic is via the northbound B4434, westbound B4242 to
Ynysygerwn Junction and south-westbound A4109 to Aberdulais Interchange: vice versa for
eastbound traffic.
