Chipping Norton, 20MPH Speed Limit Restriction Order.
What is happening?

(CHIPPING NORTON AREA) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that on 18 December 2023 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.
The order, which comes into force on 23 December introduces a 20mph speed limit throughout Chipping Norton (incorporating the existing 20mph within the town centre) replacing the majority of the 30mph speed limits in the process - leading outwards to the following points:
1. A44 London Road - a point 175 metres east of its junction with Russell Way,
2. A44 New Street - a point 20 metres east of its junction with Dunstan Avenue,
3. A361 Banbury Road - a point 69 metres northeast of its junction with Cotshill Gardens,
4. A361 Burford Road - a point 15 metres northwest of its junction with the B4026 Charlbury Road,
5. B4026 Over Norton Road - a point 225 metres north of its junction with Park Road,
6. B4450 Churchill Road - a point 105 metres southwest of its junction with Tilsley Road,
7. Dunstan Avenue - its junction with the A44 New Street,
8. Station Road - its junction with the A44 Worcester Road.
The 30mph speed limits on the A44 Worcester Road, A361 Burford Road, and B4026 Charlbury Road remain in place, with Officers having taken the current road environment & traffic usage into account.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Chipping Norton Area) (Speed Limits) Order 2020 is revoked/replaced.
