Definitive Map Modification Order 2023

The above Order, made on 14 December 2023 if confirmed as made, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by varying the particulars relating to the footpath Meltham 75 as follows:

1. The full length and width of a section of Meltham 75 at present shown in the map and statement as a 1.2 metre wide public footpath as indicated on the map annexed hereto by the black dashed line commencing at Grid Reference SE 0958 1031 (Point B on the Order Map) opposite No. 67 Colders Lane and approximately 6 metres east of its junction with Meltham 45 and leading north-easterly for some 135 metres to its junction with Colders Drive at Grid Reference SE 0965 1042 (Point C on the Order Map) is to be deleted; and

2. The full length and width of a section of Meltham 75 at present shown in the map and statement as a 1.2 metre wide public footpath commencing on Leygards Lane 20 metres north of its junction with Wessenden Head Road (C558) at Grid Reference SE 0928 1012 (Point A on the Order Map) and leading northeasterly for some 360 metres to Grid Reference SE 0958 1031 (Point B on the Order Map) opposite No. 67 Colders Lane and approximately 6 metres east of its junction with Meltham 45 is to be upgraded to a restricted byway as indicated on the Order Map by the broken green line with a varying width between 2.5 and 9 metres, as shown shaded pink on the Order Map.

Copies of the Order and the Order Plan may also be inspected free of charge at Meltham Library, Carlilie Institute, 54 Huddersfield Rd, Meltham, HD9 4AG (during normal opening hours).

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent or delivered in writing addressed to Harry Garland, Kirklees Council, Legal Services, PO Box 1720, Huddersfield HD1 9EL no later than 09 February 2024. You should quote reference HG/D105-172 and state the grounds on which your objection/representation is made.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Kirklees Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (or part of it if the authority has by notice to the Secretary of State so elected under paragraph 5 of Schedule 15 to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981) may itself confirm the Order (or that part of the order). If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment Food and Rural Affairs, in whole or in part, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
