Abbey Lane and Abbeyhill/ Spring Gardens, Edinburgh - Temporary Road Restrictions
What is happening?
THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL
(ABBEY LANE & ABBEYHILL/SPRING GARDENS) (NO. 2) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2023 – TEMP/23/243
The Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate a safe working area for nearby redevelopment works, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on Abbey Lane, from its jnct with Abbeyhill/Spring Gdns, north-eastwards for 90m; & (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on both sides of (i) Abbey Lane, from its jnct with Abbeyhill/Spring Gdns, north-eastwards for 100m; & (ii) Abbeyhill/Spring Gdns, from 35m west of the north-western kerbline of Abbey Lane, generally eastwards to 30m south-east of the south-eastern kerbline of Abbey Lane. The Order shall have effect from 9/1/24 to 30/6/25. Existing restrictions will be suspended on the affected sections of roads described in (b). The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via Abbeyhill, Abbey Mount, Montrose Ter, London Rd, Meadowbank Ave, Royal Park Ter & Spring Gdns.
