Cadzow Street/Quarry Street Area, Hamilton Experimental Traffic Management Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that, on 21 December 2023 South Lanarkshire Council in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 9 and 10 of the Roads Traffic Regulation Act 1984 made and confirmed the above-mentioned Experimental Order.
The effect of the Experimental Order will be to introduce a traffic management scheme which will allow traffic to access Cadzow Street and Quarry Street, limit the access to Keith Street from Cadzow Street to buses, coaches and taxis, and introduce limited waiting and loading only within the bays on Cadzow Street, Quarry Street and Townhead Street, Hamilton.
The experimental Order will come into force on the 1 February 2024 and remain in force for a period of up to 18 months. Copies of the Order as made and confirmed and of the accompanying plan are available for inspection on the council’s website.
The council will in due course be considering whether the provisions of the Experimental Order should be made permanent.
Any person wishing to object to these proposals for the order to be made permanent should send details of the grounds for objections in writing to the Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, Council Offices, Almada Street, Hamilton ML3 0AA or by email to parking.unit@southlanarkshire.gov.uk, by 1 August 2024. This period being within six months, beginning with the day on which the Experimental Order comes into force on 1 February 2024.
Objections should only be sent to the council after 1 February 2024.
