Bothwell Town Centre Temporary 20mph Speed Limit Order 2024

On 11 December 2023 South Lanarkshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which makes it unlawful for any person, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform, to cause or permit any vehicle to drive at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour on the lengths of roads detailed below:-

Blantyre Mill Road, Bothwell, both directions – from the extended south-west kerbline of Main Street, southwestwards for a distance of 40 metres or thereby.
Fallside Road, Bothwell, both directions – from the extended north-east kerbline of Main Street, northeastwards to a point 35 metres north-east of the extended north-east kerbline of Waverley Court, a distance of 138 metres or thereby.
Main Street, Bothwell, both directions – from a point 17 metres south of the extended south kerbline of Ferry Road, northwards, and north-westwards to a point 49 metres north-west of the extended north-west kerbline of Fallside Road, a distance of 476 metres or thereby.
Old Station Court, Bothwell, both directions – full length, a distance of 92 metres or thereby.
Station Road, Bothwell, both directions – from the extended south-west kerbline of Main Street, southwestwards for a distance of 38 metres or thereby.
Uddingston Road, Bothwell, both directions – from a point 49 metres north-west of the extended north-west kerbline of Fallside Road, north-westwards for a distance of 26 metres or thereby
Waverley Court, Bothwell, both directions – from the extended north-west kerbline of Fallside Road, northwestwards for a distance of 46 metres or thereby. 

This Order has been made because of the likelihood of danger to the public, i.e. for reasons of road safety.

The Order will come into operation at 0001 hours on 5 February 2024 and will remain in operation until 2400 hours on 5 August 2025.
