BIRLING AVENUE, RAINHAM (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable water supply works to be carried out -

Birling Avenue, Rainham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between across the frontage of Coxenton House. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via London Road, Station Road, Childscroft Road and Berengrave Lane.

This order will come into force on Monday, 29 January 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 29 January 2024 and are programmed for completion within two weeks. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

GILLINGHAM LEVEL CROSSING (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable railway maintenance works to be carried out -

Gillingham Level Crossing - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the level crossing. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Gillingham Road, Brompton Road, Prince Arthur Road, Pier Road and Church Street.

This order will come into force on Sunday, 28 January 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Sunday, 28 January 2024 and are programmed for completion within one day (with closures taking place between 7am and 9am and again between 3pm and 5pm). The crossing will be open to vehicular traffic at other times. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

HEMPSTEAD ROAD, GILLINGHAM (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable electricity supply works to be carried out -

Hempstead Road, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 320 and 336 Hempstead Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Chapel Lane and Hempstead Valley Drive.

This order will come into force on Monday, 22 January 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 22 January 2024 and are programmed for completion within one week. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

STROOD (PARKING PLACES, STOPPING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.18) ORDER 2023

NOTICE OF MAKING Benenden Road / Iden Road (Wainscott), Bligh Way (Strood), Frittenden Road / Miller Way / Hughes Drive (Wainscott), Mill Road / Prospect Avenue (Strood), Rede Court Road (Strood), Sycamore Road (Strood)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council on 18 December 2023 made the above-mentioned order under sections 1, 2, 4 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

The general effect of the Amendment order, which comes into operation on 2 January 2024, will be to introduce or amend lengths of No Waiting at any time (double yellow lines) in roads within Strood areas as detailed:

1) Benenden Road – South-west side, 10m north-west and 10m south-east of the junction of Iden Road;

2) Bligh Way – (a) North-west side, 7m extension of the existing double yellow lines north-eastwards to the bus stop at the front of No.130, (b) South-east side, 6m extension of the existing double yellow lines north-eastwards to the parking bay, at the front of No.130;

3) Frittenden Road – (a) South-east side, 224m from opposite No.22 north-eastwards to the parking bays opposite No.43, (b) North-west side, 14m north-east from the junction of Miller Way, to outside No.23 opposite the footpath, (c) North-west side, 9m south-west from the junction of Miller Way up to No.22;

4) Hughes Drive – North side, 8m eastwards from the junction of Miller Way;

5) Iden Road – Both sides, 10m south-westwards from the junction of Benenden Road;

6) Mill Road – North-east side, 5m north-west and 5m south-east from the junction of Prospect Avenue;

7) Miller Way – (a) Both sides, 10m north-westwards from the junction of Frittenden Road, (b) East side, 12m northwards from the junction of Hughes Drive, opposite Nos.55-57;

8) Prospect Avenue – (a) South side, 14m extension westwards of the existing double yellow lines from the junction with Bill Street Road up to the garage at the rear of No 51, (b) Both sides, 5m northeastwards from the junction of Mill Road;

9) Rede Court Road – North-west side, 52m opposite the petrol station, from the traffic lights, past the entrance to the sports ground to the grass verge outside No.184;

10) Sycamore Road – (a) North side, a 13m length opposite No.25, (b) South side, a 12m length outside No.25;

Copies of the order and of other documents giving more detailed particulars of the order can be requested by sending an email to parkingdesign@medway.gov.uk or by writing to Parking Design team, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, ME4 4TR before the end of a period of six weeks from the date on which the order was made.

Persons wishing to question the validity of the order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the act or any instrument made under the act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the above date on which the order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

PARK AVENUE, GILLINGHAM (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable gas main replacement works to be carried out -

Park Avenue, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between the junction with Seaton Road and the junction with Stuart Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Canterbury Street and Oxford Road.

This Order will come into force on Monday, 22 January 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 22 January 2024 and are programmed for completion within three weeks. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.
