Olympia Event Order - Temporary Road Closure

What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF HAMMERSMITH AND FULHAM
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1)
(OLYMPIA EVENT ORDER) (ORDER 2024)
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
The Council of the London Borough of Hammersmith
and Fulham hereby gives notice that to prevent the
likelihood of danger to the public and to prevent the
roads from becoming thronged and/or obstructed due
to the Events, it made an Order the effect of which will
be to impose temporary restrictions on vehicular traffic
as shown in Articles 2 and 3 of this notice.
1. The Order will come into operation on the
1st January 2024 and will be valid for 12 months if
circumstances prove the restrictions necessary.
The temporary restrictions of this Order do not apply
in respect of:
(i) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance
or police purposes,
(ii) anything done with the permission of a police
constable in uniform, a Police Community
Support Officer in uniform or a Council employed
civil enforcement officer,
(iii) in respect of any vehicles or trailers authorised
by an officer from the Council to be used in
connection with the said Event at Olympia.
2. For the duration of this Order and whilst the
authorised traffic signs are displayed:
(a) two-way traffic in Blythe Road will be suspended
and no person shall cause any vehicle to
proceed other than from its junction with
Beaconsfield Terrace Road to its junction with
Kvaerner House 68 Hammersmith Road in a
south-westerly direction.
(b) two-way traffic in Maclise Road will be
suspended and no person shall cause any vehicle
to proceed other than from its junction with
Olympia Way to its junction with Sinclair Road
in a westerly direction.
(c) the eastern footway of Blyth Road between the
junction with Lyons Walk and the junction with
Beaconsfield Terrace Road will be suspended.
3. For the duration of this Order and whilst the
authorised traffic signs are displayed no person shall
cause any vehicle to stop, wait, load or unload during
the times specified in this schedule:
(a) HAMMERSMTH ROAD, the north side, from its
junction with North End Road to its junction with
Olympia Way. No waiting or loading at any time.
(b) BLYTHE ROAD, on both sides, from its junction
with Hammersmith Road to its junction with
Beaconsfield Terrace Road. No waiting between
7am and midnight Monday to Sunday.
(c) BEACONSFIELD TERRACE ROAD, the east
side, from its junction with Blythe Road to its
junction with Maclise Road. No waiting between
7am and midnight Monday to Sunday.
(d) MACLISE ROAD, the south-east side, from its
junction with Olympia Way to its junction with
Beaconsfield Terrace Road. No waiting between
7am and midnight Monday to Sunday.
(e) MACLISE ROAD, the north-west side, from its
junction with Olympia Way to its junction with
Sinclair Road. No waiting between 7am and
midnight Monday to Sunday.
4. The restrictions are expected to be in place
from Monday 1st January 2024 until Tuesday
31st December 2024. The dates specified are for
guidance and informative purposes only and works
may extend outside these dates.
