NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:
Worts Causeway, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-005
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Worts Causeway, Cambridge as lies between the A1307 and Lime Kiln Road.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A1307 – Cherry Hinton Road, Great Shelford and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical ducting and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 8 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 7 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 8 January and 2 April 2024.
Bell Road, Bottisham (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-007
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Bell Road, Bottisham as lies between number 11 and High Street.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Bell Road – A1303 – High Street and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 17 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 16 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 17 January and 19 January 2024.
Derby Road, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-014
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Derby Road, Cambridge as lies between number 13 and Cherry Hinton Road.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical ducting installation and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 22 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 21 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 22 January and 16 February 2024.
Chesterton Road (A1303), Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-019
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Chesterton Road (A1303), Cambridge as lies between number 71a and Government Offices.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A1303 – A1134 – A1303 or via A1303 – A1134 – Huntingdon Road – Castle Street – A1303.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate installation of Toucan crossing works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 3 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 2 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 3 January and 29 March 2024.
Cambridge Road, Sawston (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-022
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Cambridge Road, Sawston as lies between Sawston Bypass and Little America Farm.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Cambridge Road – New Road – Mill Lane – A1301 and vice versa or via A1301.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate duct installation and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 15 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 14 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 15 January and 29 January 2024.
Milton Bypass (A10), Milton (TEMPORARY NO LEFT TURN) ORDER 2024-023
Is to stop any vehicle from turning left from Milton Bypass (A10) in to Butt Lane (C206).
The alternative route for vehicles is via A10 – Waterbeach Road, Landbeach – High Street – Landbeach Road, Milton – A10.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate GPR surveys and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 8 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 7 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 20:00hrs and 06:00hrs 8 January to 12 January 2024.
Alex Wood Road, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 24-024
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Alex Wood Road, Cambridge as lies between Numbers 55 and 65.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunication duct renewal and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 4 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 3 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs on 4 January 2024.

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Rose and Crown Road and Fen Drayton Road, Fen Drayton as lies between Scotland Drove and Fen Drayton Road; Gibraltar Lane and Rose and Crown Road respectively.
The alternative route for vehicles is via School Lane – Middle Watch – Boxworth End – Rose and Crown Road and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate access to carriageway boxes and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 8 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 7 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs 8 January to 12 January 2024.
Norwich Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-029
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Norwich Street, Cambridge as lies between numbers 51 and 63.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Francis Passage – Bateman Street – Panton Street – Union Road – A1307 – Bateman Street .
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 16 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 15 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. Malcolm Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-030
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Malcolm Street, Cambridge as lies between number 11 and King Street.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Jesus Lane – Manor Street – King Street.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas main laying and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 8 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 7 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 8 January and 12 January 2024.
Babraham Road (A1307), Cambridge (TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024-031
Is to impose a 30mph speed limit along Babraham Road (A1307), Cambridge as lies between Cherry Hinton Road and Haverhill Road.
The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place indicating the speed limit along the whole or any part of the above mentioned length of road whilst works are in progress or temporarily suspended.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical duct installation and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 8 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 7 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 8 January and 1 April 2024.
Milton Road, Impington (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-036
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Milton Road, Impington as lies between Manor Farm Offices and St Andrews Way.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Burgoyne’s Road – Impington Lane – B1049 – Denmark Road – Beach Road – Cottenham Road – Green End – High Street – Landbeach Road – A10 – Butt Lane and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 3 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 2 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs 3 January to 4 January 2024.
Shelly Row and Union Road, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) And Panton Road, Cambridge (TEMPORARY REVOCATION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ORDER) ORDER 2024-038
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Shelly Row and Union Road, Cambridge as lies between the A1134 and St Peters Street; the A1307 and Bentinck Street respectively.
During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area A (Consolidation) Order 1993 as amended by The City of Cambridge Area A (Consolidation) Order 1993 (Amendment No. 162) Order 2018 and varied by the Cambridgeshire County Council (Various Streets) (Prohibition of Driving and One-way Streets) Order 2021, Schedule 6 One-way Streets Part 2 Roads and parts of roads in which pedal cycles are permitted to travel in the opposite direction of the one-way street: Panton Street (from its junction with Russell Court to its junction with Union Road) – Direction of travel except for pedal cycles – from south to north is hereby suspended.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A1134 – A1303 – Castle Street – St Peters Street or via Bentinck Street – Coronation Street – Panton Street – Norwich Street – Hills Road.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate installation of speed cushions and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 22 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 21 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs and 17:00hrs 22 January to 2 February 2024.
Rowan Close, Bottisham (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-042
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Rowan Close, Bottisham as lies between number 2 and Beechwood Avenue.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 8 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 7 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 8 January and 12 January 2024.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Grange Road – Madingley Road – M11 – A603.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate highway improvements and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 8 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 7 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 20:00hrs and 06:00hrs 8 January and 29 February 2024.
High Street, Horningsea (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-045
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High Street, Horningsea as lies between the Garden Centre and Gayton House.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Horningsea Road – B1047 – A14 – A10 – Car Dyke Road – Cambridge Road – Chapel Street – Station Road – Clayhithe Road, Waterbeach – Clayhithe Road, Horningsea and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate footway resurfacing and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 2 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 1 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 2 January and 1 March 2024.
Mill Lane, Swaffham Bulbeck (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-052
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Mill Lane. Swaffham Bulbeck as lies between La Calinda and Commercial Lane.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 8 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 7 July 2025 whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 8 January and 16 January 2024.
Hills Road (A1307), Cambridge (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CYCLE LANE) ORDER 2024-049
Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on Hills Road (A1307), Cambridge as lies between number 106 and electric substation.
During the period this Order remains in force the City of Cambridge Area A (Consolidation) Order 1993, Schedule 23 – Cycle lanes, Part 2 – Mandatory with flow cycle lane, Hills Road – on its west side from a point 13 metres north of its junction with Brooklands Avenue to a point 70 metres south of its junction with Bateman Street is hereby suspended.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near the cycle lane and it will come into operation on 29 January 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 28 July 2025 whichever is the earlier.
This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Hills Road (A1307), Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 29 January and 2 February 2024.
Ermine Street (A1198), Caxton (TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024-048
Is to impose a 30mph speed limit along Ermine Street (A1198), Caxton as lies between Cambridge Road and Cambourne Footpath 7, Cambourne.
