What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Bridewell Lane, Motcombe

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Bridewell Lane, Motcombe between North End and Withies Farm, a distance of approximately 210 metres. 
The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. 
It will come into operation on 3rd January 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26th January 2024.
This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to install new water main.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffi c to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Gillingham
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Gillingham as listed: [i] Common Mead Lane between access to Sewage Disposal Works and Kine Bush Lane; [ii] Common Mead Lane between Kine Bush Lane and Nations Road; [iii] Unnamed Road, Eccliffe between Nations Road and Bleet Lane; [iv] Dunns Lane, Madjeston in its entirety [v] Unnamed Road, Madjeston between Bleet Lane and Sandpits Lane; [vi] Unnamed Road, Madjeston between Sandpits Lane and B3092 New Road; [vii] Cole Street Lane at its junction with B3092 New Road. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 15th January 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 31st May 2024. Only one closure listed above will be in place at any one time and residents access will be maintained at all times.
This Order will enable The Electricity Network Company Limited, safe access to install a new high voltage cable from Common Mead Lane to Principal Street.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffi c to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Shaftesbury Road, Gillingham
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Shaftesbury Road, Gillingham between Ham Roundabout and Cole Street Lane, a distance of approximately 320 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. 
It will come into operation on 15th January 2024 with the closure in place 24hrs a day and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 30th January 2024. A further closure is programmed to commence from 5th February 2024 until 16th February 2024 with the closure in place 24hrs a day.
This Order will enable Mata Construction Limited, safe access to enable gas connection works in the highway.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffi c to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Cole Street Lane, Gillingham
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Cole Street Lane, Gillingham. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation between 09:30 - 14:30 on 15th January 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26th January 2024. 
The road will be open outside of these times and also over the weekend.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffi c to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Church Lane, Sturminster Newton
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Church Lane, Sturminster Newton between Overton Cottage, Church Lane and Dovers Cottage, Church Lane (in both directions), a distance of approximately 10 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.
It will come into operation on 25th January 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 31st January 2024
This Order will enable Gigaclear safe access to install ducting and associated infrastructure in to the highway.
There will be no alternative vehicular route on this occasion, however access will be maintained.

Temporary Parking Suspension on Various Roads, Sherborne
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 15th January 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 2nd February 2024.
This Order will enable Gigaclear safe access to install Fibre Infrastructure.
The effect of this Order is as follows:
[1] To impose clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Various Roads, Sherborne as listed: [i] Wingfi eld Road, Sherborne from outside 2 Wingfi eld Road to outside 38 Wingfi eld Road; [ii] Richmond Road, Sherborne from outside Denton House, Richmond Road to ouside 1 Richmond Road. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Notice of Making a Public Path Diversion and Defi nitive Map and Statement Modifi cation Order Highways Act 1980
Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981
Dorset Council (Part of Footpath 3, Shaftesbury) Public Path Diversion Order 2023
The above order, made on 1 December 2023 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert part of Footpath 3, Shaftesbury as shown on the order map as follows: From the existing path: The whole width of the footpath from the unaffected part of Footpath 3, south south east of 18 Cranborne Drive at ST 8703 2395, north east and north north east to ST 87082 24034 then north west to ST 87080 24035 and continuing north east to rejoin the unaffected part of Footpath 3, opposite the pumping station at ST 8709 2405. (No recorded width). To the new path: From the unaffected part of Footpath 3, south south east of 18 Cranborne Drive at ST 8703 2395, east south east and east north east to ST 8704 2395 then generally north north east along a compacted gravel surfaced path, passing through a landscaped area, to the west of the new housing development to ST 87093 24023. It continues north north west to ST 87090 24029 then north north east to ST 8710 2405 and west north west to rejoin the unaffected part of Footpath 3, opposite the pumping station at ST 8709 2405. The width of this part of Footpath 3 is 2 metres.
A copy of the order and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Reception, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester during normal offi ce hours. Copies are also available on our website at www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/row-orders.
Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to Defi nitive Map Team, Spatial Planning, Dorset Council, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1XJ (Ref: RW/P249), or via email to defi nitivemapteam@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk, not later than 19 January 2024. Please state the grounds on which they are made. Any letters received will be made available for public inspection.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Dorset Council may confi rm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confi rmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
