What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) Vicarage Close, Marlborough; from its junction with St Martins for its entire length to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated maintenance works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 12 January 2024 and the closure will be required the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 4 days. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months. For further information please contact Wiltshire Council on 01225 730438. B) Hartmoor Road (Part), Devizes; from its junction with Old Park to its junction with Broadleas Park to enable Openreach to carry out works to install a new chamber, lay duct and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 08 January 2024 and the closure will be required for 2 days. C) C374 (Part), Royal Wootton Bassett; from its junction with C46 to its roundabout junction with Huntsland to enable Vodafone to carry out works with safe access for testing and maintenance to telecom masts and other associated works. Alternative route via C374 (unaffected length) - A3102 - C46 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 10 January 2024 and the closure will be required for 1 day. D) Storey Mews, St Paul Malmesbury Without; from its junction with A429 for its entire length to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out drainage and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 08 January 2024 and the closure will be required until 08 March 2024. E) C53 (Part), Everleigh, Collingbourne Kingston and Pewsey; from its junction with A342 to its junction with Swan Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overrun works to stabilise and improve the roadside verges following years of overrunning having taken place. Works will also involve other highway remedial works where necessary. Alternative route via A345 - A342 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 08 January 2024 and the closure will be required until 19 January 2024. For further information please contact Wiltshire Council on 0300 456 0105. F) C134 (Part), Bremhill; from its junction with C118 for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out work to install a data logger to water main in the carriageway and other associated works. Alternative route via C134 (unaffected length) - C113 - Maud Heaths Causeway North East to Wick Hill - C118 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 09 January 2024 and the closure will be required for 2 days. For further information please contact Wessex Water on 0345 6004600. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: G) Forest Road (Part), Wootton Rivers; from its junction with C199 to its junction with South Bank to enable Openreach to carry out safe access to overhead structure and associated works. Alternative route via Forest Road (unaffected length) - Wootton Rivers Road - A346 - Ram Alley Lane - Railway Lane - Cuckoos Knob and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 20 December 2023 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. H) C60 (Part), Etchilhampton; from its property known as Wayside Lodge for a distance of approximately 1200m in an easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out to provide a safe working are for engineers to access telegraph poles in order to provide overhead cabling. Alternative route via C60 (unaffected length) - C51 - C8 - A361 - A342 - C60 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 18 December 2023 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. I) Avils Lane (Part), Stanton St Quintin; from its property known as Lower Stanton Farm to its property known as Brook Cottage to enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer lining and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 18 December 2023 and the closure will be required until 22 December 2023. For further information please contact Wessex Water on 0345 6004600. Orders A) to I) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

NOTICE OF MAKING AN ORDER PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 AND WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL MALMESBURY 8 (PART) DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2023

The above order, made on 5 December 2023, under section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, will divert path Malmesbury 8, south of Filands, Malmesbury, from OSGR ST 9359-8836, in a broadly north easterly direction, for approximately 232m to OSGR ST 9376-8850, to a new route at OSGR ST 9359-8836, in a broadly north easterly direction for approximately 248m to OSGR ST 9377-8850, having a width of 2m. Thereupon the Malmesbury Rural District Council Area Definitive Map and Statement dated 1952 shall be modified accordingly. A copy of the order and the order map may be seen free of charge at, Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, BA14 8JN from 0900 to 1700 Monday to Friday by appointment.
