The A5 Trunk Road (Near Nuneaton, Warwickshire) - Temporary Traffic Order
What is happening?
NATIONAL HIGHWAYS
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(A) and (7)
THE A5 TRUNK ROAD (NEAR NUNEATON, WARWICKSHIRE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) has made an order on the A5 Trunk Road, near Nuneaton, in the County of Warwickshire, to enable a new junction to be installed. The effect of the Order will be to –
(1) close the eastbound carriageway of the A5 from its junction with the A444, at Caldecote, to its junction with the A47 The Longshoot;
(2) close the westbound carriageway of the A5 from its junction with the A47 The Longshoot, to its junction with the A444, at Caldecote;
(3) close any layby adjacent to the lengths of the A5 described in (1) and (2) above; and
(4) prohibit any vehicle from entering or leaving the lengths of the A5 described in (1) and (2) above, at the junction with any side road.
The work is expected to start on Wednesday 3 January 2024 and continue for approximately nine months. The carriageway closures will be carried out overnight between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours, the layby closures will be in force from 00:01 hours on Wednesday 3 January 2024 and continue for 24 hours a day for the duration of the works. The Order will come into force on 27 December 2023.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes, and vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures and prohibition.
Diversion routes via the A444 and the A47 will be signed.
