What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (STONDON: FOOTPATH NO 5) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of Footpath No 5, Stondon which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1622 3598 to OS GR TL 1614 3587.
This temporary closure is required for path construction works to take place as part of the ongoing residential development by Bloor Homes. The closure is expected to take place from 8 to 26 January 2024.
There is no alternative route whilst this closure is in force. Please use other public rights of way whilst the closure is in place.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 8 January 2024 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpath have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (BIGGLESWADE: PART OF BRIDLEWAY NO 22 AND FOOTPATH NO 65) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the following length of:
I. Footpath No 65, Biggleswade which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1873 4442 to OS GR TL1853 4393 and to prohibit any person proceeding on foot or on horseback or lead a horse or cycle along the length of:
II. Bridleway No 22, Biggleswade which extends from OS GR TL 1847 4443 to OS GR TL 1873 4442
These temporary closures are required to safely enable the construction of a new footpath with rights to cycle for the Biggleswade Green Wheel. The closures are expected to take place from 4 January to 3 July 2024.
There is no alternative route for footpath and bridleway users while the closures are in operation. Please use alternative public rights of way whilst this closure is in place.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (ORCHARD WAY, LOWER STONDON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Orchard Way, Lower Stondon between Plum Tree Road and Bedford Road.
This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 8 to 12 January 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
There is no alternative route for this closure. The Order will come into operation on 8 January 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (RECTORY ROAD, MEPPERSHALL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Rectory Road, Meppershall outside number 1.
This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 8 to 12 January 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure is via Stondon Road, Chapel Road, Fildyke Road, High Street and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on 8 January 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (SUN STREET, POTTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Sun Street, Potton between Home Lane and Market Square. This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 8 to 12 January 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via B1042, Swaden, Everton Road, Sandy Road, Potton Road, Everton Road, Myers Road, B1040 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 8 January 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (ROSE LANE, BIGGLESWADE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Rose Lane, Biggleswade outside number 30.
This temporary closure is required to enable electricity supply works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 9 to 12 January 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure is via High Street (A6001), The Baulk, Chestnut Avenue, Crab Lane, Rose Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 9 January 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (BROAD STREET, CLIFTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Broad Street, Clifton between numbers 76 and 80.
This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 8 to 10 January 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period. Access for residents will be maintained when safe to do so.
The alternative route for this closure is via Broad Street, Clifton Road, B659, Hitchin Road, A507, New Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 8 January 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (THE VILLAGE, OLD WARDEN) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of The Village, Old Warden between number 41 and approximately 20 metres northwest from Parsonage Piece.
This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 11 to 12 January 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period. Access for residents will be maintained when safe to do so.
The alternative route for this closure is via The Village, Bedford Road, Shefford Road, ZUC147, ZUC151, High Street, ZUC150, B658, Kingshill, Hill Lane, ZUC157, Church End and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 11 January 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (BUDNA ROAD, NORTHILL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Budna Road, Northill outside The Cottage.
This temporary closure is required to enable drainage installation works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 8 to 10 January 2024 between the hours of 9am and 5pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure is via Budna Road, Thorncote Road, Bedford Road, ZUC162 and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on 8 January 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

Highways Act 1980 Central Bedfordshire Council Notice of Making of Public Path Order
CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (STONDON: FOOTPATH NO 5) PUBLIC PATH CREATION ORDER 2023
The above Order made on 8 December 2023 under Section 26 of the Highways Act 1980 will create a public footpath running from Bedford Road to Footpath No 4, Stondon as shown on the Order map.
That length of Footpath No 5, Stondon to be created extends from its junction with Bedford Road at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1621 3598 in a generally south-westerly direction for approximately 314 metres to its junction with Footpath No 4, Stondon at OS GR TL 1597 3582 where the path terminates. The new length of footpath has a width of 2 metres.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (STONDON: FOOTPATH NO 5) PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2023
The above Order made on 8 December 2023 under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980 will extinguish Footpath No 5, Stondon running between points A-B as shown on the Order map.
That length of Footpath No 5, Stondon to be stopped up extends from its junction with Bedford Road at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1622 3598 in a generally south-westerly direction for approximately 128 metres to its termination at OS GR TL 1614 3587. The footpath is extinguished across its entire width.

Please state the grounds on which they are made. Representations and objections must include either a postal or e-mail address. Any representations or objections made will be in the public domain and will be available for viewing/copying by members of the public.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Central Bedfordshire Council may confirm the Order(s) as an unopposed Order(s). If the Order(s) is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order(s) and will be made publicly available by either the Council or the Planning Inspectorate.
