What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BERESFORD ROAD, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Beresford Road, St Albans from its junction with Camp Road north eastwards to its junction with Cambridge Road, a distance of approximately 95m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via Camp Road, Ashley Road and Cambridge Road. The Order is needed because sewer cleaning works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 9 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN ST ALBANS, PARK STREET,
BRICKET WOOD AND CHISWELL GREEN) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-
1. that length of Folly Avenue, St Albans from its junction with Normandy Road north westwards to its junction with Kimberley Road, a distance of approximately 210m. An alternative route will be via Normandy Road and Kimberley Road or via Cannon Street, Ashwell Street, Normandy Road and Kimberley Road.
2. that length of Lemsford Road, St Albans from its junction with A1057 Hatfield Road north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Sandpit Lane, a distance of approximately 653m.
An alternative route will be via A1057 Hatfield Road, Clarence Road and Sandpit Lane.
3. that length of Park Street Lane, Park Street from its junction with A5183 Park Street south westwards to its junction with Tippendell Lane, a distance of approximately 292m.
An alternative route will be via A5183 (Park Street/Watling Street), A405 North Orbital Road and Tippendell Lane.
4. that length of Old Watford Road, Bricket Wood from its junction with A405 Mount Pleasant Lane north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Oakwood Road, a distance of approximately 850m.
An alternative route will be via A405 Mount Pleasant Lane, Mount Pleasant Lane, West Riding and Oakwood Road.
5. that length of Laburnum Grove, Chiswell Green from its junction with B4630 Watford Road south eastwards and clockwise for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
6. that length of Broad Acre, Bricket Wood from its junction with Old Watford Road south eastwards to its junction with Jenkins Avenue, a distance of approximately 216m. An alternative route will be via Old Watford Road, The Uplands and Jenkins Avenue.
7. that length of B691 Victoria Street, St Albans from its junction with A1081 St Peters Street south eastwards to its junction with B691 Stanhope Road, a distance of approximately 845m.
An alternative route will be via A1081 St Peters Street, A1057 Hatfield Road and B691 Stanhope Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A5183 VERULAM ROAD AND
LOWER DAGNALL STREET, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-
1. that length of A5183 Verulam Road, St Albans from its junction with Upper Dagnall Street south eastwards to its junction with A5183 High Street, a distance of approximately 190m.
An alternative route will be via A5183 (Verulam Road/Folly Lane), A4147 (Folly Lane/ Catherine Street), A1081 (St Peters Street/Chequer Street) and A5183 High Street.
2. that length of Lower Dagnall Street, St Albans from its junction with A5183 Verulam Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 20m.
An alternative route will be via A5183 Verulam Road, College Street and Lower Dagnall Street.
The Order is needed because the renewal of existing water mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A1057 HATFIELD ROAD, ST ALBANS) ORDER NO.2 2023
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A1057 Hatfield Road, St Albans from its junction with Glenferrie Road north eastwards to its junction with Sandfield Road, a distance of approximately 80m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via A1057 Hatfield Road, A1081 (St Peters Street/Chequer Street/London Road), A414 North Orbital Road, A1001 Comet Way and A1057 (St Albans Road West/Hatfield Road).
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 7 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B651 HIGH STREET, SANDRIDGE) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B651 High Street, Sandridge from its junction with Highfield Road north eastwards to its southernmost junction with Hopkins Crescent, a distance of approximately 84m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via B651 (St Albans Road/Sandridge Road/Stonecross), A1081 St Peters Street, A1057 (Hatfield Road/St Albans Road West), A1001 Comet Way, A6129 Stanborough Road, B653 (Stanborough Road/Brocket Road/Marford Road/Cory Wright Way/Codicote Road) and B651 (Station Road/High Street/The Hill/ Wheathampstead Road/High Street).
The Order is needed because water works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 9 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the southbound carriageway of High Street, London Colney from its junction with the London Colney roundabout south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 77m ("the Road"), except for access. An alternative route will be via A1081 London Colney Bypass, Barnet Road and High Street.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-
1. that length of Bedford Road, St Albans from its junction with Inkerman Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 20m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
2. that length of Inkerman Road, St Albans from its junction with Bedmond Road north eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 30m. There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 9 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B5378 Shenley Lane, London Colney from its junction with the B556 Bell Lane/B556 Harper Lane roundabout north westwards, northwards and north westwards to its junction with St Annes Road, a distance of approximately 1030m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via B556 Bell Lane, A1081 (Bell Link Overbridge/London Colney Bypass), A414 North Orbital Road and B5378 Shenley Lane or via B5378 (Shenley Lane/Napsbury Lane), Napsbury Lane, A414 North Orbital Road, A1081 (London Colney Bypass/Bell Link Overbridge) and B556 Bell Lane. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 January 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BEECH ROAD, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Beech Road, St Albans from a point in line with the north east boundary of No.102 Firbank Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 80m ("the Road"), except for access. An alternative route will be via Beech Road.
The Order is needed because development works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 18 December 2023 for a
period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect
at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, ST ALBANS) (20 MPH ZONE) (NO. 2) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce a 20 mph zone on Chestnut Drive, Hazelwood Drive, Langford Close, Woodland Drive, Central Drive, Oakwood Drive and Elm Drive, St Albans as specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals may be viewed from 14 December 2023 during office hours, at Main Reception, Hertfordshire County Council, County Hall, Pegs Lane, Hertford, or on-line at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/ trafficorders by selecting St Albans and looking at Ref: SA00523.
