ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that the Council intends to make an Order under Sections 1 and 2 of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act of 1984”) and of all other powers them enabling
and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of
the Act of 1984, the effect of which is as set out in the Schedule below.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council in pursuance of its powers as
contained in Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 and the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999
intends to install Traffic Calming Measures in the form of Speed Table of such dimensions and situated at
such locations as set out in Schedule 2 below.
A copy of the draft Order, plan and statement of reasons can be inspected on the Council’s Internet
Website https://www.npt.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders-tros.
Any objections should be submitted in writing, setting out the reasons thereof, to reach the Head of
Engineering and Transport, The Quays, Baglan Energy Park SA11 2GG by 17th January 2024.

Schedule 1 - Revocation
1.1 Any existing Orders are hereby revoked only in so far as they relate to the sides and lengths of roads
set out in Schedule 2 and 3 of this Order.
Schedule 2 - Prohibition of Waiting, Loading or Unloading at Any Time
2.1 B4603 Ynysmeudwy Road, Pontardawe (South West Side)
From a point opposite and in line with the western kerbline of Clos Nant Ddu to a point approximately
92 metres south west thereof
2.2 B4603 Ynysmeudwy Road, Pontardawe (South West Side)
From a point approximately 104 metres south west of a point opposite and in line with the western
kerbline of Clos Nant Ddu to a point approximately 277 metres south west of a point opposite
and in line with the western kerbline of Clos Nant Ddu, a distance of approximately 173 metres in
a south westerly direction
2.3 B4603 Ynysmeudwy Road, Pontardawe (North East Side)
From its junction with the western kerbline of Clos Nant Ddu to a point approximately 40 metres
south west thereof
2.4 B4603 Ynysmeudwy Road, Pontardawe (North East Side)
From its junction with the eastern kerbline of Clos Nant Ddu to a point approximately 23 metres
north east thereof
2.5 Clos Nant Ddu, Pontardawe (East Side)
From its junction with the north eastern kerbline of B4603 Ynysmeudwy Road to a point approximately
14 metres north thereof
2.6 Clos Nant Ddu, Pontardawe (West Side)
From its junction with the north eastern kerbline of B4603 Ynysmeudwy Road to a point approximately
18 metres north thereof
Schedule 3 - Traffic Calming Measures In The Form Of Speed Cushions
(1.6m wide x 2m long x 65mm high)
3.1 B4603 Ynysmeudwy Road, Pontardawe.
A set of speed cushions will be placed on B4603 Ynysmeudwy Road at a point approximately
260 metres south west of its junction with Clos Nant Ddu.
3.2 B4603 Ynysmeudwy Road, Pontardawe.
A set of speed cushions will be placed on B4603 Ynysmeudwy Road at a point approximately
200 metres south west of its junction with Clos Nant Ddu.
3.3 B4603 Ynysmeudwy Road, Pontardawe.
A set of speed cushions will be placed on B4603 Ynysmeudwy Road at a point approximately
140 metres south west of its junction with Clos Nant Ddu.
3.4 B4603 Ynysmeudwy Road, Pontardawe.
A set of speed cushions will be placed on B4603 Ynysmeudwy Road at a point approximately
80 metres south west of its junction with Clos Nant Ddu.
3.5 B4603 Ynysmeudwy Road, Pontardawe.
A set of speed cushions will be placed on B4603 Ynysmeudwy Road at a point approximately
60 metres north east of its junction with Clos Nant Ddu junction.
