Coniscliffe Road, Temporary Road Closure Due To Electrical Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (Coniscliffe Road, Stanley) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2023
The Council on 8/12/23 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, Section 14(1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on a 22 metre length of Coniscliffe Road, Stanley from junction with A693 at southern side of closure in a northerly direction to junction with Dene Street to enable new electrical supply works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of closure, a diversion will be available to vehicular traffic from south side of closure in an easterly direction on A693 to roundabout, then west on A693/Front Street Cross, then southwest on Front Street, then north and west on Coniscliffe Road to northern end of closure and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence from 8am on 18/12/23 and are anticipated to be completed in 5 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
