THE A14 TRUNK ROAD

(THRAPSTON, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE TO FELIXSTOWE, SUFFOLK)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) has made an Order on the A14 Trunk Road in the Counties of Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk to allow maintenance works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to take place commencing on or after 2 January 2024 and be completed by 20 December 2024.

The effect of the Order will be to:

(a) authorise the overnight closure (20.00 - 08.00) of the A14 between Thrapston and Felixstowe;

(b) authorise the closure of:

(i) all slip roads leading to and from the above length of the A14;

(ii) the laybys on the above lengths of the A14;

(iii) the gaps in the central reservation on the above length of the A14.

During the closures traffic will be diverted via junctions of the A14 and local roads. The duration of each closure will vary depending on the nature of the maintenance work being undertaken on each occasion.

The closures (which will not apply to emergency service, traffic officer or works vehicles), and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

The Order will come into force on 2 January 2024 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
