York, Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Due To Maintenance Works

THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (BRAMHAM ROUNDABOUT TO EASTFIELD ROUNDABOUT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire, to enable maintenance and improvement works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to take place overnight between 8pm and 6am during a period starting on 2 January 2024 and ending on 23 December 2024.

The effect of the Order will be to impose prohibitions on the following lengths of carriageway:

(i) the A64 Trunk road, in both directions, between Bramham Roundabout and Eastfield Roundabout (including all roundabouts);

(ii) all slip and link roads leading to and from the lengths of carriageway described above;

(iii) all laybys, side roads, gaps and bus stops adjacent to the lengths of carriageway described above; and

(iv) Scarborough Road between, and including, Brambling Fields North and Brambling Fields South roundabouts.

During any road closures traffic will be diverted via alternative junctions of the A64, A1(M) and local roads. These diversions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the area. The duration of each prohibition will vary depending upon the nature of the work being undertaken on each occasion and access will be maintained at all times to premises and properties which are accessible from, and only from, the A64.

The prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, winter maintenance, or traffic officer vehicles. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs. The Order comes into force on 1 January 2024 and will expire on 23 December 2024.
