INTENTION TO EXERCISE POWERS IN TERMS OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1988, THE ENVIRONMENT ACT 1995, and THE ROAD TRAFFIC (VEHICLE EMISSIONS) (FIXED PENALTY) SCOTLAND REGULATIONS 2003
Notice of Designation
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Stirling Council, as an Authority designated by the Scottish Ministers for the purposes of the above legislation, intends to exercise those powers to public to all roads within Stirling Council and will take effect from MIDNIGHT on 15th January 2024.
The conferred designation allows the Council to issue fixed penalty notices for stationary idling offences under Section 42 of the Road Traffic Act 1988.

The COUNCIL made The Stirling Council (Various Streets, Riverside) (20mph Temporary Speed Limit) Order 2023 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) on 8-12-23.
This Order will extend the existing temporary 20mph speed limits on:-
Abbey Mill, Abbey Road, Abbey Road Place, Abbotsford Place, Dean Crescent, Forth Street, Lovers Walk, Meadows Place, Millar Place, Queenshaugh Drive, Riverside Drive, Shiphaugh Place, Shore Road, Sutherland Drive, Waverly Crescent, Riverside.
This Order will also re-designate the existing 20mph speed limit zones on Cask Crescent and Cooperage Quay as temporary 20mph speed limits. All restrictions will be from 18-12-23 for a period of 18 months in the interests of public safety.

A820, B8033 (Perth Road), Beech Road, Claredon Place, High Street and Stirling Road, Dunblane, the order will also make full-time the existing part-time 20mph speed limit on the A820, Doune Road, Dunblane from 18-12-23 for a period
of 18 months in the interests of public safety.
