Luton Borough - Various Areas - various lengths of No Waiting at Any Time restrictions
What is happening?
THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.126) ORDER 2023. THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.91) ORDER 2023. THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) (AMENDMENT NO.36) ORDER 2023.
NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, on 11th December 2023 made the above Orders under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The Orders will come into effect on 20th December 2023. The Orders will:
1. Introduce various lengths of No Waiting at Any Time restrictions on Alder Crescent, Alexandra Avenue, Amhurst Road, Avenue Grimaldi, Barnfield Avenue, Bishopscote Road, Blandford Avenue, Blenheim Crescent, Eighth Avenue, Green Oaks, Handcross Road, Kendal Close, Lawn Path, Maple Road East, Nunnery Lane, Solway Road South, Toddington Road.
2. Introduce a length of No waiting Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm restriction on Birdsfoot Lane.
3. Include Latimer Road into the Controlled Parking Zone (PT), the controlled parking zone PT operates Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm.
4. Revoke various lengths of No Waiting Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm waiting restriction on Studley Road and introduce No Waiting at Any Time restriction in their place.
5. Remove lengths of parking bays opposite 45 Filmer Road, 15 Stanton Road, 10 Summers Road and extend the adjacent waiting restrictions in their place.
6. Introduce various lengths of mandatory cycle lanes on the slip roads for Capability Green, and on New Airport Way (A1081).
7. Revoke the No Waiting at Any Time restriction and No Loading Monday to Saturday 8am to 9:15am and 4:30pm to 6pm restrictions from the whole length of Mill Street and introduce in their place Red Route No stopping at any time.
8. Correct an anomaly between on-street restrictions and the map based plan for Kimpton Road with no change to markings and signage on-street.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that they are not within the powers contained in the above Act or any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
