What is happening?
Gloucestershire County Council Temporary Road Closure Of A48 Main Road (Alvington And Woolaston Parishes) Forest Of Dean District Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the A48 Main Road, from outside the property known as The Globe Inn, to the junction with Netherend, for a total distance of approximately 960 metres. The reason for the closure is for carriageway re-surfacing works. There will be no stopping or waiting permitted throughout the duration of the said works. The said road is expected to be closed from 11th December 2023 until 12th December 2023. (nights only between 1900hrs and 0700hrs) or until the works have been completed. Temporary Road Closure Of C40 Dean Road (Newnham On Severn Parish) Forest Of Dean District Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C40 Dean Road from its junction with Grange Village to its junction with Pleasant Stile for a total distance of approximately 300 metres. The reason for the closure is to carry out works for the installation of fibre optic cables. The said road is expected to be closed from 8th December 2023 until 22nd December 2023 or until the said works have been completed. The reason for the closure is for Full Carriageway Re-instatement works to be carried out. The said road is expected to be closed from 12th December 2023 until 14th December 2023 only or until the works have been completed. The reason for the closure is for a new National Grid connection The said road is expected to be closed from 13th December 2023 until 19th December 2023 or until the said works have been completed. The road is expected to be closed from 08:00 to 17:00 on 10th December 2023 only or until the works have been completed. The reason for the closure is for Boundary Box and Metre installation. The said road is expected to be closed from 11th December 2023 until 13th December 2023 or until the works have been completed. Temporary Closure Of Public Footpath Fwo 104 (Wollaston Parish) Forest Of Dean District Notice is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council has made an Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) Public Footpath FWO 104 from its junction with Road Number C5 (Severn View Road) and then extends in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 435 metres to its junction with FWO 103. The Public Footpath falls within the Parish of Woolaston in the Forest of Dean District and the County of Gloucestershire. The closure is necessary to protect the public while construction works are completed. The Public Footpath was originally closed for 21 days by Emergency Notice commencing 23rd November 2023. However, as the works to remedy the problem have not been completed it is necessary to close the Public Footpath by an Order which can authorise the closure for up to six months from the date of the Emergency Notice. The Order comes into effect on the 14th December 2023. If work to remedy the problem is not completed by 23rd May 2024, then it will be necessary to make an application to the Secretary of State for an extension to the Order.
