What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) B4528 (Part), Chippenham and Lacock; from outside its property known as Holywell House, Chippenham to outside its property known as Showell House, Lacock to enable Dave Lucey Ltd to carry out B4528 closure - construction of roundabout for Redcliffe Homes. Alternative route via B4528 (unaffected length) -A350 - A4 - B4528 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 02 January 2024 and the closure will be required until 09 June 2024. For further information please contact Dave Lucey Ltd on 01373 454565. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: B) B3087 High Street (Part), Pewsey; from its junction with Brunkards Lane for a distance of approximately 75m in a westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out access to underground structure, cabling for new customer connection and other associated work. Alternative route via High Street (unaffected length) -A345 - B3052 - A345 - B3087 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 10 December 2023 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. C) Parliament Street, Chippenham; from its junction with Sheldon Road for its entire length to enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out gas main upgrade and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 11 December 2023 and the closure will be required until 26 January 2024. E) Inmarsh Road (Part), Seend; from its property known as Turners Farm for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole and associated works. Alternative route D via C242 (unaffected length) - A365 - A361 - C242 (unaffected length) and vice versa. No alternative route is available for E. This Order will come into operation on 11 December 2023 and the closures will be required for 1 day. For further information please contact Ferns on behalf of Openreach on 01732 442210. F) Manor Lane (Part), Baydon; from its property known as Brookfield to its property known as Shalom to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out Joint hole in carriageway, 4m road crossing and 13m trench in unmade for new connection. Alternative route via Manor Lane (unaffected length) - Ermin Street - Aldbourne Road - Manor Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 11 December 2023 and the closure will be required for 5 days. For further information please contact Scottish and Southern Power Distribution on 07921 095771. Orders A) to F) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

And to temporarily introduce a 40mph speed restriction on the following length of road: A350 Southbound (Part), Kington Langley and Langley Burrell Without; from its junction with Plough Lane to its roundabout junction with West Cepen Way to enable Gigaclear to carry out a lane closure of A350 (southbound), to safely install ducting and associated works. Alternative route via B4069 - Kilverts Way - A350 and vice versa. The closure, diversion route and speed restriction will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 11 December 2023 and the closure and speed limit will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 15 December 2023. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months. 2. THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE

(A4 NEW ROAD, STUDLEY, CALNE WITHOUT) (50MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2023 Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be as follows: Order 1 - To revoke The County of Wiltshire (A4 New Road, Studley, Calne Without) (50mph Speed Limit) Order 2019 and to introduce a 40mph speed limit on A4 New Road, Studley, Calne Without - from a point 273 metres west of its junction with Studley Lane (north side) to a point 193 metres east of that junction. Order 2 -To introduce a 50mph speed limit on A4 New Road, Studley, Calne Without - from a point 193 metres east of its junction with Studley Lane (north side) to a point 19 metres west of its junction with Norley Lane. Deposit copies of the Order, plans and Statement of the Council's Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge during normal office hours. Details of the proposed scheme may also be seen at Calne Library, The Strand SN11 0JU during the hours of 10am to 7pm Monday, 9.30am to 5pm Tuesday and Thursday, 9.30am to 7pm Friday and 9.30am to 4pm Saturday until 8 January 2024.
