(VARIOUS ROADS IN THE CUMBERLAND AREA)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.8) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Viberoptix to carry out utility works ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:

Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1; and

Prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and/or from loading and unloading, at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) along the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2.

Suitable diversion routes for the closures will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

(iii) Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for

pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

(iv) Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 5 January 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 8 weeks and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Alternative Route: via Bridge End, C4005 and the U4463.

2. U4033 Sandwith - From 8 January 2024 for approx. 1 week (Ref:TTROC/9199)

From its junction with Dalelands Road, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 1.1km.

Alternative Route: via Dalelands Road, Byerstead Road, Scalebarrow and Rottington Road.

3. Valley View Road, Whitehaven - From 15 January 2024 for approx. 5 days (Ref:TTROC/9302)

From its junction with Woodhouse Road to its junction with Gameriggs Road.

Alternative Route: via Gameriggs Road, Greenbank Avenue and Woodhouse Road.

4. Gameriggs Road, Whitehaven - From 22 January 2024 for approx. 5 days (Ref:TTROC/9305)

From its junction with Greenbank Avenue, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 120m.

Alternative Route: via Greenbank Avenue, Woodhouse Road and Valley View Road.

From a point approx. 65m west of its junction with Greenbank Avenue, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 35m.

6. Bowness Road, Whitehaven - From 29 January 2024 for approx. 5 days

8. C4017 Wath Brow - From 5 February 2024 for approx. 4 days (Ref:TTROC/9341)

From its junction with the U4032, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 2.4km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U4017, Kirkland Road, Cold Fell, U4026, A5086, Main Street, Parkside Road and Frizington Road.

9. Bridge End, Egremont - From 5 February 2024 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/9414)

From its junction with the C4005, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 65m.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

10. U4434 Cleator Moor - From 9 February 2024 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/9336)

From its junction with the C4017, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 1.3km.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

11. U4039 Carlton - From 11 February 2024 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/9415)

From its junction with the A595, extending in an easterly then northerly direction, for approx. 580m and continuing along the left fork for 280m and also the right fork for 140m.

Alternative Route: via A595, St Thomas' Cross Roundabout and the C4016.

12. Red Beck Road, Cleator Moor - From 12 February 2024 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/9314)

From its junction with Frizington Road, extending in a north easterly direction for approx.2.6km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Red Beck Road, U4026, A5086, Main 8Street and Parkside Road.

13. C4016 Wilton - From 14 February 2024 for approx. 3 days

From its northern junction with the U4040 to its junction with Scurgill Terrace. Alternative Route: via the U4040, the unrestricted sections of the C4016 and Scurgill Terrace.
