Byrom Street & Artillery Street - Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic & One-way to Facilitate Development Works

TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC133678370: The City of Manchester (Byrom Street & Artillery Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic & Temporary One-Way) Order 2023 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Byrom Street from Quay Street to the end of Artillery Street, make Artillery Street one-way from its junction with Longworth Street to its junction with Byrom Street & No Waiting No Loading on Byrom Street from Quay Street to Artillery Street on both Sides to allow 2 Way traffic.
The alternative routes for traffic will be: Quay Street, Lower Byrom Street, Liverpool Road, Deansgate, St John Street, Byrom Street & Byrom Street, Camp Street, Deansgate, Quay Street.
The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Development Works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 28th May 2023 to 31st March 2024.
The order shall come into operation on 28th May 2023 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
