C136 HESLEYHURST JUNCTION TO LONGHORSLEY, LONGHORSLEY
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to introduce a road closure and speed restriction on the C136 Hesleyhurst Junction to Longhorsley, Longhorsley in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 1st January 2024 until the 1st June 2024.
Road Closure:-
A road closure will be introduced on the C136 Hesleyhurst Junction To Longhorsley from its junction with the C165 heading in a north westerly direction for a length of 1448 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the C136, C165, C144, B6342 and vice-versa.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 19th February 2024 until the 4th March 2024 and 11th March 2024 until 15th March 2024 between the hours of 08:00 until 17:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 1st June 2024.
Speed Restriction:-
A speed restriction will further be introduced restricting the speed of all vehicular traffic from 60mph down to 40mph on the C136 Hesleyhurst Junction to Longhorsley from its junction with the C165 heading in a north westerly direction for a length of 1448 metres in the County of Northumberland. It is expected that the speed restriction will be in force when the road is reopened and will remain in force for the duration of the whole works.

The road closure and speed restriction have been requested by Northumberland County Council to carry out resurfacing works and civil works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
