NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant
Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Park Road Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Park Road Wigan on 25/01/2024 from 22:00-5:00.
The alternative route for traffic is: Parsons Walk, New Market Street, Frog Lane and Gidlow Lane. The Order is necessary to allow to allow access and assessment of the bridge.
(Sunny Drive Orrell) (Temporary Closure)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant
Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Sunny Drive Orrell) (Temporary Closure) Order 2023.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Sunny Drive Orrell during the period of five days commencing on 15/01/2024 to 19/01/2024.
The alternative route for traffic is: West Mount, Orrell Road and East Mount.
The Order is necessary to allow an electrical connection.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough
Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Wigan Roads) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.178) Order 2024. The effect of the Order will be to revoke prohibited waiting at all times:
• Millgate Wigan – both sides from its junction with Market Place to a point 64 metres east of its junction with Market Place.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at all times:
• Millgate Wigan – both sides from its junction with Market Place to its junction with Hewlett Street.
There will be limited exceptions permitting vehicles to wait to enable people to board or alight; for the purpose of building and similar operations, removing obstructions to traffic, road works and works by statutory undertakers; for local authority, Water Companies and Post Office purposes; if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances, (liveried vehicles) or in connection with a funeral; to take on fuel, water or air at any garage; for the delivery or collection of goods and for loading or unloading; or the avoidance of an accident.
The effect of the Order will be to revoke restricted loading on the following roads on any day from
10:30am to 4.00pm
• Millgate Wigan – both sides from its junction with Market Place to a point 64 metres east of its junction with Market Place.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce restricted loading on the following roads on any day from 10:30am to 4.00pm.
• Millgate Wigan – both sides from its junction with Market Place to its junction with Hewlett Street. The effect of the Order will be to revoke on-street parking spaces on any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday 8:00am to 6:00pm.
• Millgate Wigan – north side from a point 114 metres east of its junction with Market Place to a point 148 metres east of its junction with Market Place The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough

4 and 92 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Millgate Wigan) (Prohibition of Driving Order) 2024. The effect of the Order will be to revoke prohibited driving of motor vehicles on the following length of roads at all times:
• Millgate Wigan – from its junction with Market Place to a point 80 metres north west of its junction with Hewlett Street.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce prohibited driving of motor vehicles on the following length of roads at all times:
• Millgate Wigan – from its junction with Market Place to its junction with Hewlett Street.
There will be limited exceptions for the purpose of enabling the vehicle to be used in the delivery or collection of goods or to be loaded or unloaded between the hours of midnight and 10:30am and 4:00pm and midnight, for the purpose of building and similar operations, for the purposes of roads works and works by statutory undertakers, for Local Authority, Water Companies and Post Office purposes, vehicles being used for Police, fire brigade or NHS emergency vehicle purposes (liveried vehicles) and vehicles in connection with a local funeral.

Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of
Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Millgate Wigan) (One Way Working) Order 2024.
The effect of the Order will be to revoke One Way Working on the following length of road:
• Millgate Wigan – from its junction with Market Place to a point 80 metres north west of its junction with Hewlett Street.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce One Way Working on the following length of road:
• Millgate Wigan – from its junction with Market Place to its junction with Hewlett Street in a southerly direction.

(Walkden Avenue Wigan)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Walkden Avenue Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2023. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Walkden Avenue Wigan during the period of one day commencing on 23/01/2024 from 19:00-22:00.
The alternative route for traffic is: Gidlow Lane,
Spencer Road West, Spencer Road and Mesnes Road. The Order is necessary to allow a frame and cover replacement.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough
Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 118 Highways Act 1980 has made the Wigan Borough
Council (Ince Green Lane Steps, Ince) Extinguishment Order 2023 on 30th November 2023, as it appears to the Council that the footpath described below is not needed for public use.
The effect of this Order is to stop up the public footpath over the steps situated at Ince Green Lane, from their junction with the northern pavement of Ince Green Lane at Point A on the Map at grid reference 359598 404880 to the pavement of Canal Street to Point B on the map at grid reference 359589 404876, a distance of approximately 12 metres, as shown on the Order map. A copy of the Order and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the Wigan Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan between the hours of 9.00am and 4.30pm on any day

S.Eccles-Churton@wigan.gov.uk Compensation for depreciation or damage for disturbance and arising as a result of the coming into force of the Order is payable under Section 28 (as applied by Section 121(2) of the Highways Act 1980 (as amended by the Transport and Works Act 1992). Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to the Assistant Director – Legal, Governance and Elections at the Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan, WN1 1YN or via the email address above, stating reference
RD/LS/SEC/C108.840 not later than 5th January 2024. Please state the grounds on which they were made. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Wigan Borough Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for Planning Inspectorate (PINS) for confirmation, any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
