Edgeley Park, Edgeley - Temporary Prohibition Of Driving

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (EDGELEY PARK, EDGELEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Hardcastle Road, from the junction of Duchy Street for a distance of approx. 240M in an Easterly direction. Worrall Street, from the junction of Mercian Way to the junction of Hardcastle Road. Arnold Street, from the junction of Mercian Way to the junction of Hardcastle Road. Caroline Street, from the junction of Mercian Way to the junction of Hardcastle Road. Mahood Street, from the junction of Mercian Way to the junction of Hardcastle Road, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said roads. This Order is necessary to ensure public safely on Stockport County match days. Road closures to be in operation for up to 60 minutes prior to match kick-off and up to 45 minutes after match full-time whistle. Timings of actual road closures within these parameters are dependent upon mutual decision between Stockport County, GMP and SMBC. Alternative routes will be via:- Hardcastle Road – Dale Street, Mercian Way Caroline Street – Mercian Way, Dale Street. Diversions will not be signed on site.This Order is to come into operation on the 16 December 2023 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
