King Street - Prohibition Of Traffic For Water Supply Works

What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF HAMMERSMITH AND FULHAM
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1)
(KING STREET) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

1. The Council of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham hereby gives notice that in order to facilitate water supply works on King Street; it intends to make an Order the effect of which would temporarily prohibit traffic in King Street.

2. Whilst works are in progress, or whilst the authorised traffic signs are displayed:

(a) no person or vehicle shall enter, stop, wait, load or proceed in King Street, on the northern footway between No. 222 King Street and the junction of Ravenscourt Road.

(b) no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter King Street travelling eastbound at its junction with Ravenscourt Road.

3. An alternative route for traffic in article 2 shall be provided for westbound traffic via Goldhawk Road, Shepherds Bush Green, Shepherds Bush Road, Hammersmith Road, Butterwick and Queen Caroline Street.

4. Exemptions would be provided in the Order to permit reasonable access to premises, so far as it is practical without interference with the execution of the said work and for works vehicles, any vehicle being used in connection with police, fire or ambulance purposes and anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.

5. The Order would come into operation on the 5th January 2024 and would be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until works are completed, whichever is the sooner.

6. Works would be expected to commence on Friday 5th January 2024 and lasts until 7th January 2024. The dates specified are for guidance and informative purposes only and works may extend outside these dates.
