What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC
REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED) Notice is hereby given that the
City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic
Order: ORDER NO. MCC136312852: The City of Manchester
(Glen Avenue, Moston Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular
Traffic) Order 2023 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular
traffic on Glen Avenue from Clough Road to Melton Street.
The alternative routes for traffic will be: Hodge Street,
Clough Road, Lewis Avenue, Goodman Street and Vice Versa.
The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary
in order to facilitate sewer maintenance. It is expected that
the works will be in progress on 6th December 2023 between
the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. The order shall come into
operation on 6th December 2023 and may remain in force
for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary
works are completed within a shorter period, the Order
shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
ORDER NO. MCC136296606: The City of Manchester
(Thorpebrook Road, Moston Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of
Vehicular Traffic) Order 2023 under s14 of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit
vehicular traffic on Thorpebrook Road from Halliford Road
to Halliford Road. The alternative routes for traffic will be:
Halliford Road and Vice Versa. The City Council is satisfied that
this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate carriageway
resurfacing. It is expected that the works will be in progress
from 4th December 2023 to 7th December 2023. The order
shall come into operation on 4th December 2023 and may
remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months.
If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period,
the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
ORDER NO. MCC136392619: The City of Manchester
(Maine Road, Moss Side Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of
Vehicular Traffic) Order 2023 under s14 of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit
vehicular traffic on Maine Road from Wykeham street to
Bilsborrow Road. The alternative routes for traffic will be:
Lowthorpe Street, Lloyd Street South, Wansford Street and
Vice Versa. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is
necessary in order to facilitate utility works. It is expected that
the works will be in progress on 7th December 2023 between
the hours of 09:30 and 15:00. The order shall come into
operation on 7th December 2023 and may remain in force for
a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works
are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease
