The East Sussex (U7596 Tubwell Lane, Horam) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Tubwell Lane – from the junction with B2203 Maynards Green Road to the junction with U7594 West Street Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7594 West Street Lane – B2203 Maynards Green Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 18 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Upper Belgrave Road – from the junction with U5442 Lower Drive to the junction with U5423 Lexden Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5423 Lexden Road – U5431 Vale Road – U5446 Sutton Road – U5522 Blatchington Hill – U5441 Upper Belgrave Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 18 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 18 and 20 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C39 Station Road, Berwick) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Station Road – from the junction with P9103 Cornford Crescent to the junction with P8574 Washere Close.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C39 Station Road – C347 Lower Wick Street – C207 Langtye Lane, The Street – A27(T) – C340 Common Lane – C39 Station Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 23:00hrs on 16 December to 04:00hrs on 18 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7711 Rickney Lane, Hailsham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Rickney Lane – from the junction with C411 Downash Road to the junction with U7710 Rickney Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C411 Saltmarsh Lane – B2104 Ersham Road, Hailsham Road – C708 Glynleigh Road – U7710 Rickney Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 19 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 19 and 20 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C110 Plumpton Lane, Plumpton) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

To allow Hailsham Roadways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Plumpton Lane – from the junction with B2116 Ditchling Road to Millers Mead.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C110 Plumpton Lane, Station Road – C6 South Road – C323 Honeypot Lane, Mill Lane – A275 South Road, Resting Oak Hill, Cooksbridge Road – B2116 Ditchling Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 20 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 07:00hrs to 19:00hrs on 20 and 21 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U5470 Saxon Lane, Seaford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

To allow Electrical Testing Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Saxon Lane – from the junction with C30 Steyne Road to the junction with C36 High Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C36 High Street, East Street – C38 Sutton Road – A259 Sutton Park Road, Clinton Place – C30 Dale Road, Pelham Road, Steyne Road.

The Order commences 18 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 18 and 22 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C15 Cowbeech Road/Foul Mile, Herstmonceux/Warbleton) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Cowbeech Road/Foul Mile – from the junction with C601 Kingsley Hill to the junction with C409 Hammer Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C601 Kingsley Hill – C409 Hammer Lane and vice versa. The Order commences 6 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 6 and 8 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U7123 Butlers Lane, Herstmonceux) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Butlers Lane – from the junction with U7696 Church Road to the junction with U7697 Lower Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7696 Church Road – U7697 Lower Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 5 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. The East Sussex (C496 Bell Lane, Fletching/Nutley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Bell Lane – from the junction with A22 High Street to the junction with C496 Witches Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C496 Bell Lane – C206 High Street, Church Street, Ruston Bridge Road – A272 Batts Bridge Road – C9 Down Street, Nether Lane – A22 High Street and vice versa.

The Order commences 1 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. The East Sussex (C324 Wellgreen Lane, Kingston) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Wellgreen Lane – from the junction with U5049 The Street to the junction with C7 Kingston Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C7 Kingston Road, Southover High Street, Bell Lane, Winterbourne Hollow – A275 Brighton Road – A27 Ashcombe roundabout – C324 Ashcombe Lane and vice versa.

The East Sussex (U5119 Antioch Street, Lewes) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Antioch Street – from the junction with U5119 Rotten Row to the junction with A277 High Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A277 High Street, Western Road – C7 Winterbourne Hollow, Bell Lane – B2193 Southover High Street – U5162 Southover High Street – U5119 Grange Road, St Pancras Road, Rotten Row and vice versa.

The Order commences 4 December 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 4 and 11 December 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

Notice is hereby given that East Sussex County Council propose to make the above Order under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, which will introduce new or revise the existing parking, waiting and loading restrictions along the following lengths of roads:

The introduction of Prohibition of Waiting At Any Time in the following roads:

NOTICE OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY PUBLIC PATH CREATION AGREEMENT  HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, SECTION 25  EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL  DEDICATION OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH LEWES 58

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 17 November 2023 East Sussex County Council entered into an Agreement with the relevant landowners under Section 25 of the Highways Act 1980 as amended, for the dedication of a public footpath in the District of Lewes in the County of East Sussex.

The route dedicated will be known as ‘Lewes 58’ and is described as follows:

The public footpath commences at a gate on the edge of the public highway extent of Kingston Road in Lewes at point A at TQ 4074 0950 which has a usable width of 0.9 metres. From the gate at point A the path continues in a generally north north-westerly direction on a flat concrete surface for 1.73 metres with a width of 1 metre until the bottom of the first step of a series of 7 upward concrete steps.

The footpath continues in a generally north north-westerly direction as it goes up 7 concrete steps for a distance of 1.5 metres, with a varying width of between 0.9 metres and 1 metre until the top of the 7 steps.

The footpath continues in a north north-westerly direction as it continues over a flat concrete surface for 1.4 metres with a width of 1 metre to point B at TQ 4074 0950. From point B the footpath then turns to the east to continue in an easterly direction on a flat concrete surface for 1.58 metres with a width of 1 metre, until it reaches the bottom of a series of 3 concrete steps.

The footpath then continues in an easterly direction up 3 concrete steps for a distance of 0.47 metres with a width of 1 metre until the top of the 3 steps.

A continuous handrail runs along the eastern side of both sets of steps mentioned above, continuously from the northern edge of the gate at point A at TQ 4074 0950 to the top of the 3 steps at TQ 4074 0950.

The footpath then continues in an easterly direction on a flat tarmac surface for 1.3 metres with a width of 1 metre until it reaches the curb of the driveway of Saxonbury House where there is a slight drop down onto the driveway surface from the curb.

The footpath then continues in an easterly direction onto the tarmac surface of the Saxonbury House driveway for a distance of 2 metres with a width of 1 metre to point C at TQ 4074 0950.

From point C, the footpath then turns to a north north-westerly direction to run along the smooth tarmac surface of Saxonbury House drive, on a very slight upward incline, for a distance of 17 metres with a width of 2 metres, measured out from the edge of the western curb of the driveway, to reach point D at TQ 4073 0952.

All the widths from TQ 4074 0950 northwards along the driveway are measured out from the western curb of the driveway.

From point D, the footpath then continues in a north-westerly direction along the driveway for a distance of 5 metres with a width of 2 metres to point E at TQ 4073 0952.

From point E, the footpath then continues in a north north-westerly direction again along the driveway for a distance of 6 metres with a width of 2 metres, until it reaches the northernmost edge of, and entrance of, the driveway of Saxonbury House where it joins the Highway Extent of Juggs Road in Lewes at point F at TQ 4073 0952.

A copy of the Agreement and Map contained in it have been deposited and can be inspected free of charge in Reception, County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes BN7 1UE, Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 4pm or on request by emailing ‘definitive.map@ eastsussex.gov.uk’, and at the offices of Lewes District Council, 6 High Street, Lewes BN7 2AD between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday until 6 weeks from the date of this notice.
