Fort Cumberland Road - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Fort Cumberland Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting and Loading) (No.316) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 16th December 2023 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING
FORT CUMBERLAND ROAD
From outside No. 3 to outside No. 7 on both sides.
B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING
FORT CUMBERLAND ROAD
From its junction with Ferry Road to outside No. 19 on both sides.
FORT CUMBERLAND ROAD
From its junction with Gibraltar Road to Fort Cumberland Road on the southbound carriageway.
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate Openreach works.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 09:30 to 15:30 on 16th December 2023 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
E) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Ferry Road - Fort Cumberland Road.
Pedestrian access will be diverted around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
