M62, Junction 22 to Junction 38 - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(a) & 14(7)
THE M62 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 22 TO JUNCTION 38) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the M62 Motorway, in the Counties of West Yorkshire, the East Riding of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire, to enable maintenance and improvement works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place overnight between 8pm and 6am during a period starting on 2 January 2024 and ending on 23 December 2024.
The effect of the Order will be to impose prohibitions on the following lengths of carriageway:
(i) the M62, in both directions, between Junction 22 and Junction 38;
(ii) all slip and link roads leading to and from the lengths of carriageway described above; and
(iii) all refuge areas on the lengths of carriageway described above.
During any road closures traffic will be diverted via alternative junctions of the M62, M18, M1, M621, A63, A1(M) and local roads. These diversions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the area.

The duration of each prohibition will vary depending upon the nature of the work being undertaken on each occasion.
The prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, winter maintenance, or traffic officer vehicles. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs.
The Order comes into force on 1 January 2024 and will expire on 23 December 2024.
